I write it on my paper.
"Hey" I hear Nicolas.
I shut my journal quick.
"Hey" I smile. There's no way I'm ready to call him out on what I know. In fact, I don't think I'd know how to. I just want to be happy and never see him again.
"Tonight my parents are having their annual dinner thing...I was wondering if you'd wanna go?" He grinned.
"Um, I don't know-" I play with the sleeves to my top.
Puzzled, and in confusion he says "Oh..umhm..okay. Well I guess if you're there, I'll see you later. But I'll be planning that you do, because you always do. Also, your parents are going to be joining."
"Oh-"
"Yep" He half smiles.
"Okay, well that's all I wanted to ask or whatever-" He makes his way to his seat.
Oh my gosh. I close my eyes. I regain all happiness though when James enters the room. He takes the seat I saved next to me.
"Is this seat taken?" He smirked.
"Nope" I blush.
"Good" He winks.
"What did he have to say?" He adds.
"Who?"
"Nicolas?"
"Oh, he was just asking me to this dinner thing tonight."
"Oh, well you're not gonna go...or are you? "
"Of course not-" I reply.
Out of the corner of my eye, I know Nicolas can hear and see us, but I don't care. I seriously don't.
I'm happy.
