angst

[Wow finally an angst story whooo! I've been holding back on creating angst afraid that it might be too cliche or cringey but hey here we are. Happy reading]

----------------------------

Playing in the rain with Karma was so fun! Jumping on puddles, dancing, making jokes, laughing. You wished your parents didn't tell you to come inside the house but it was for the better. In the end, you and Karma caught a fever. But it was alright! You had Karma by your side and you on Karma's side! It'll stay this way forever right?

Right...?

Now, a 2nd year high school student, walking in the rain. You smiled fondly at the memory. Ever since that day, memories of you snd Karma started flooding your brain. It didn't matter if it was a sweet memory, bitter memory, bad memory, a.. fun memory, a memory that made your heart flutter and your stomach erupt in butterflies. It didn't matter, they were flooding into your brain either way.

As you took a left turn into your neighborhood you thought to yourself, Young me was too naive,, didn't notice the red flags. But its normal, right? They do say that love is colorblind or "love is blind"... what a bunch of bullsht.

Entering your home you were greeted by your pet cat, Mokko. Taking off your shoes and putting your bag down on the floor, you immediately went to the bathroom. You turned on the faucet and stepped in the tub.

Tears sliding down your face.

The tears kept on coming no matter how hard you try to stop them. You were thankful that your parents are out of town. If they aren't they might question you or maybe even lecture you which you didn't want right now.

Remembering what happened last week made the tears keep on coming.

* flash back *

Sighing to yourself as you made it to the schools cafeteria. You wondered why Karma was being distant to you for the past month. You didn't do anything to upset him this much, did you? No, no you didn't.

You tried to recall what you did to make Karma this upset. You only introduced your best friend to him. Thats it.

Time seems to fly as it was your last class of the day. You half-focused on what the teacher was saying, the thought of Karma still lingering in your mind.

The bell rang as the teacher dismissed the class. Packing up your belongings you stood up and left the classroom.

Ah, maybe I'll visit Karma this weekend. Buy him a few gifts and maybe talk with him. Yeah, that sounds like a plan,, you thought to yourself as you began walking home.

You rode the train to Karma's house with your gift in your backpack.

You stepped out the train and exited the station, making your way to Karma's house. Good thing his house wasnt that far from the station. It was 10 am and the sun was ahining brightly.

Your walking began to speed up when you saw the familiar house in the distance. Slowing down a little, you stopped in front of the gate and opened it. You were thinking of surprising Karma with your visit.

You took a deep breath as you opened the door, after taking your shoes off of course. You heard the tv in the living room.

Perfect! Im gonna sneak up on him and see his reaction!
You thought.

Making your way to the living room you saw a sight you didnt want to see.

There, on the couch sat Karma with your best friend, Kimini, making out.

Karma was shirtless and you felt your heart shatter. It shattered more when you saw Kimini taking her shirt off.

She broke the kiss to take off her shirt. Glancing up to your direction you saw her eyes widen, quickly jumping off of Karma's lap. You didnt see it but Karma had a confused face before he turned around and saw you, still frozen in place.

You felt tears prickle your eyes. "Y/n, love what are you doing here?" Karma questioned as he started to approach you. You took a step back, feeling a tear escape.

"Karma, Kimini, what the hell?!" Kimini visibly flinched taking a step forward, "N/n I-" "Y/n this-" they both said simultaneously.

"Y/n this is all a misunderstanding," Karma begun to whick Kimini followed up with "Yeah, I took things too far and-"

Your now ex-best friend was cut off when you threw something at Karma. It was a book. A hardbound book.

It all went too fast

Screaming, tears, problems were being brought up, but you snapped when Karma said that 'Kimini is better than you anyway'

That was it. Your heart shattered at that one sentence. You exited Karma's house and you ran. Ranas far as you can. You heard footsteps behind you but you didnt stop.

Now full on sobbing, you sat on the sidewalk. Now seeing all the red flags you were too naive to see.

After that, everything was a blur. You going home and crying until you fell asleep.

* end flash back *

Now laying on your bed, you looked at all the pictures of you and Karma on your phone contemplating whether or not to delete them.

Shutting your phone off you slowly went to sleep. No tears left to shed. But before you could actually fall asleep you remembered the book tou threw at Karma. That was the gift you were going to give him. It was filled witt your guys pictures with notes and dates written at the bottom of the pictures.

You learned one thing from this event.

The rain will be with you when you're at your darkest times
