"do we really have to do this?" Karma asked. you sigh, "yes love, mom is gonna curse me out if we dont."

"i really dont get why we need to make lumpia. it's so hard to roll!" Karma complained as he set another lumpia roll on the plate. you chuckle as you roll another. it's been a tradition in your family to bring any Filipino dish at the start of every month.

"just roll them quickly. we need to there before 11 am and we're only half way through the wraps." Karma groaned as he banged his head to the table. god how did you have the patience to tolerate this boy.

"we're here!" you announce as you shrug off your coat and take off your shoes. you hear footsteps approaching the front door as you prepare yourself to catch your nephews.

"TITA!" they shout. you catch them and gently set them down. you smile and ruffle their hair. "go and help your tito karma get the food from the car. i promise, its your favorite." you wink at them and they smile excitedly. you laugh as you hear karma grunt, they must've jumped at him.

making your way to the kitchen, you greet your two older sisters. "where's kuya?" you ask as you look around. "oh, he told me he was going to be a little late." your eldest sister informs you. before you could respond, your mom was already walking in the kitchen.

"ay n/n! andito kana, dali dali. i-enternain mo muna si Emmanuel, kukuha lang ako ng calamansi para sa pancit."

[ay, n/n! you're finally here, come on. entertain Emmanuel for me, im just going to get calamansi for the pancit.]

you nod and walk to the living room where a 3 year old Emmanuel was playing with building blocks. you approach him and and start playing with him, tickling his stomach and throwing the throw pillows at him gently.

your parents doesn't have a granddaughter. all of their grandchildren so far are boys, which is fine since they only have one son.

now, it would've been fine for you cause having 9 nephews is enough trouble as it is. but recently, your brother has been bugging you on when you were getting married. complaining that before he could meet his pamangkins from you, he would have gray hair already. he was exaggerating of course but it still annoyed you to no end.

you were the youngest in your family, and it you're also a pahabol. meaning your age gap between your siblings is pretty big.

you felt hand circle your waist. you immediately melt to the touch, knowing it was just your boyfriend.

"i heard your brother complaining again." he softly says. you contain your laugh, already knowing where this conversation is headed. "Karma, we're only 25, i want to enjoy being free as long as possible." you say, crossing your arms and letting out a small laugh as you hear him huff.

"it's not that im complaining but -" he got cut off as another one of your nephews, Christian, 17 years old, throws a pillow at him. you laugh as you got out of Karma's arms.

Karma smiles and grabs one of the throw pillows, already aiming at your nephew. you quickly carry Emmanuel out of the shooting range and to the family room, where your brother-in-laws are setting up games for later.

"here, Karma and Christian just initiated a pillow fight in the living room and i dont want him to suddenly get hit." you chuckle as you set Emmanuel down near his dad. you quickly left them and went to check on the kitchen, where you could already smell spaghetti.

you almost choke on your water as you stare dumbfounded at your mom.

"ma naman! di pa nga kami kasal!" you whine.

[mom! we're not even engaged yet!]

blush crept up your face as you try to calm down. your siblings and your dad was laughing making you more embarrassed.

"dont worry, ma. sisiguraduhin ko na puro lalaki ang magiging anak namin." Karma winked at you and you hit him.

[dont worry, mom. im going to make sure that our future children are going to be all boys.]

"KARMA AKABANE!" you shout. maybe it was a good tradition to gather every month.
