"Excuse me?" He asked, with a surprised face.
It was a sunny day, and I was in 10th grade. I was really nervous to confess to my crush, Martin, but I had finally gathered my courage.
"Um... I was just saying that... I like you. Since middle school, actually." I said.
Martin stared at me for a few seconds before bursting out laughing.
"Wait, wait, wait... You're serious right now?" he exclaimed.
"Well, yeah. Of cou-"
"Sorry, babe. I don't date girls with...that type of body.", Martin looked over at his friends. "Sheesh. I mean, who would ever date a whale...??" He snickered.
"Oh my god..". His friends giggled.
I had never felt so betrayed and heartbroken. I had never expected someone to hate my body so much, let alone my crush. I ran away as fast as I could.
Never again.
