Without You

Chapter 13

I was in my room reading 'If I Stay' while Vanessa finishes cooking. I am half way through the book. Anyways I was reading when a call interrupted my reading. I pick up and see its a call from Maryland

When I answer it wasn't from my mom, but from my grandma.

"Hello."

"Laura is that you."

"Yes it's me. I thought my mom was the one calling."

"Oh your mom isn't there yet is she." she said sort of worried.

"Wait is my mom supposed to be here." I got excited with the news that my mom is coming to see us.

"She was supposed to be there at 3 your time, but I see she's not. Oh I just spoiled the surprise for you." It was already 5:57pm.

"Don't worry I'll act surprised. I'm sure Vanessa will be."

"Oh she will." she said laughing. "Well I'll leave you alone. Laura just call me when your mother gets there."

"Yeah, Yeah I will. Okay by grandma."

"Bye sweetie."

I hung up and texted Ross to tell him so he could come over and meet my mom. I just hope he's not mad anymore, which I honestly don't understand why he is. Maybe not at me but at Chris. I get Ross being mad at him, but if he's mad at me the he is just being stupid.

He didn't reply back quickly, so I went to the kitchen to see if Vanessa was finished cooking dinner. "Hey Ness, are you finished?"
"I think I am. I'm really sorry if the spaghetti came out tasting bad. Well I need to go upstairs and change I'm going to dinner."

"Woah, but you just made dinner. Are you going to leave me alone?" I think I said that screaming.

"It's sort of a dinner date with someone you don't need to know about."

I stayed shocked because she didn't want to tell me who this mysterious guy is.

"Is it that really cute guy down the hall. The one that used to check you out. Or that one guy downstairs that never stops looking at you. Oh wait no it's the receptionist guy in the lobby cause I've seen him eyeballing you all the time and he has asked me how you've been." I felt like she was getting annoyed.

"No it's none of them! You don't need to know who he is."

"Why? I always tell you things. Why don't you want to tell me?"

"Bye Laura."

And like that she left. Well I sat down and ate the food which actually was pretty good. After I finished I went to check my phone if Ross had replied. He didn't. Oh well whatever.

I went to the restroom and started filling up the tub. I need some Laura time today. To much happened and I need to forget that. Also Ross its acting like an ass with me so I need to get this stress out.

I put in bubble bath in the tub which was strawberry scented. I then dimmed the lights and turned on a couple of candles obviously cinnamon scent to go with the strawberry.

I got a couple of magazines you know the teenage ones and the ones for older people. I was reading an article about a band who post original music and they have been offered a record deal and everything but they still don't want that.

I looked at the picture to see that it was Ross and Riker, Rocky, Rydel, and Ellington. Ross was playing the guitar and singing. Wow they've been offered a record deal but don't want it.

I continued reading the magazines, but then got bored so I started playing with the bubbles. Okay that sounded babyish. I heard Vanessa close the door and leave. After that I didn't hear anything.
