At brunch
Chris was right these pesto eggs are really good
"Hey coconuts try the waffles" Chris hold onto a waffle and puts it up to my mouth. I take a bite.
Shit everything here is delicious.
"Mhm" I say "so I thought I could tell you a bit about my family, before you see them all" I say. I know it doesn't really matter if they like him or not, but still.
"So quick warning my mom she's probably going to start planning a wedding, so just keep reminding her that you and me are simply just friends" I look at Chris.
"Remind her. You me. Friend. Got it" he nods
"My dad talks a lot about business, money and Career. So don't talk to my dad at all" I say "just cause you are a bit of a failure" I whisper. I'm obviously joking. Chris is very successful.
"Okay. Me failure. No talking to dad. Got it" Chris says
"I'm kidding, you and my dad will get along great" not that it matters to me.
"My older sister she's fun be honest around her" i tell him "and my younger sister she will probably try flirting with you, so try asking her about her date/plus one/ boyfriends so she remembers she's in a relationship. She forgets something" I explain
"Got it. Anything else ?" He asks
"Nope" I say satisfied. "We should get going" I say
"Yeah"
Chris and I stand up from are table
That when I notice his outfit. I hadn't even looked at what he was wearing, he looks so good. Black pants, and white polo button up shirt. He has sunglasses hanging in the neck.
The shirt a bit see through when the sunlight hits it, so I see the abs underneath.
"Y/n" Chris gets my attention, I didn't even know I was staring at him
I shake my head "yeah ?" I look up at him
"I asked you if you wanted to grab coffee" he says
"Oh no thanks I'm good" I say to him.

We get to the dinner rehearsal.
Before me and Chris walk in to meet everyone Chris gets a phone call "sorry I'll be quick, you go in" Chris says to me I nod and walk in.
There I see my older sister Amelia and beside her my younger sister Hannah. They both were talking to each other, both dressed beautifully, in white dresses.
When they see me both my sisters instantly come up to me and hug me.
"Oh it's so good to see you two" I hug my sister tight. I really forgot how much I miss these two. Yeah we three are competitive but still love each other a lot, plus we have grown now maybe we won't be as childish anymore.
"You look great" Amelia says to me
"Thank you, so do you" I say
Hannah clears her throat
"You also look great" me and Amelia say at the same time.
"So girl who are you two bringing to the wedding ?"Amelia asks
Hannah introduces her boyfriend "this is Nath- Noah"
Me and Amelia aren't surprised she forgets his name. She's alway with a new guy.
We both chat a bit with Noah
"And where is you date ?" Amelia asks me
"Oh right, he was talking on the phone outside, I'll go check on him" I say.
As I'm waking out I check my phone and it's a message from Chris.
The message:
Hey, sorry Something came up with Sebastian and he really needed my help. I'm sorry I left without saying bye. Say 'hey' to your family from me I'll see them all on Saturday for the wedding. Again I'm so sorry
Ouch....
I was actually excited for them to meet Chris, and for the first time In my life I was somewhere close to impressing everyone, and showing them that I'm not just some failure.
I mean I shouldn't be mad at Chris, it's not like he's meeting my family or anything. We are just going as each other's 'plus one'. He doesn't even have to be here.
I reply with "it's okay. See you at the wedding" then I walk back in
"So where is he ?" Hanna asks
"He had to go" I say a bit disappointed.
"Oh it's okay" Amelia says "good thing mom brought Jacob here"
"She did what !?" I ask furious.
"Y/n clam down, it not a big deal" Amelia says
"Not a big deal ? Really ? Where is mom ?" I ask
"She's talking to Ben's family, don't make a big scene i front of them"
I ignore my sister and start walking straight towards mom.
"Oh honey when did you get here ?" My mom asks "have you met Ben's parents-" I cut her off.
"Can we talk ?" I say
Even tho she wanted to say 'can't you see I'm busy' or 'why are you being so rude' she saw I was mad. She walked with me away from everyone else.
Oh believe me as soon as we got away from everyone I started yelling everything out.
"What the hell were you thinking ?" I ask her
"What tone is this ?" My mom asks
"Answers my question. What hell were thinking by inviting Jacob here ?" I ask.
"Just in case" mom say
"Just in case of what ? I embarrass you by not bringing a date ?" I say "cause I'm a stupid Disappointment ? Right ? You have no faith in me, you just thought I'd disappoint you. I'm so tired of this game, trying to impress you and dad, it has ruined my relationship with my sister, with you and dad. Thats why I never talk to you guys. You make me feel like I'm not good enough" I take deep breath "guess what mom I did bring a date" I say
"Then where is he ?" She asks
I look at her as a tear slips my eye.
Exactly then I hear the that familiar voice, that usually annoys me, but right now it made me so happy.
"Am I interrupting something ?" Chris asks while holding a bouquet of white and light pink flowers. He also had smaller flowers in his hands.
