once upon a dream

an unfamiliar place

i stopped and gazed at you

once upon a dream

the air was crisp and hot

less tress, less people

with melancholic eyes

but your eyes brightened

as the corners of your mouth

curved into a smile

eye to eye, we stood

facing each other

a dream behind

perhaps you knew i can't stay

you knew we can't be

in a state of mind

and in the middle of nowhere

i stood frozen when you left me

once upon a dream
