Enchanted (A Collection of Poetry)

steps of memories

a little after five, the sun is down

the sky sets off a mixture of

orange and yellow-

the color of a sunset

taking a step out of the room,

we are ready for an adventure

every step we take are moments

every step we make are memories

the hallways of the school seem near

when we walk together side by side

words are coming out naturally from our mouth

never-ending, full of emotions, ready to be heard

a step out of the gates is a longer journey

more stories and laughter are made

as we take every single step

happy, free, and therapeutic

laughing together is like a melody to the ears

seeing our smiles is like seeing

thousands of beautiful flowers

we are traveling with fulfilled hearts

parting ways is a bittersweet moment

but along with our waves of goodbye

are kept memories of that certain day

and longing for tomorrow to come

every afternoon is fun and innocent

with no problems lingering around

only us and our stories

and our steps of memories
