I was standing behind Dustin and the rest of the party when he pointed to a blonde girl crying, they all started laughing, I tapped Dustin on the shoulder and gave him a 'remember what we talked about' look he sighed then they all stopped.
I was sitting at a table with boys during the reception when they called Mr Clarke over, they asked him about some sought of portal to another universe and other nerd shit. I had lost interest already so I let my mind wander thinking about what's happening between Nancy and Steve, whether anybody's found about el or if Dustin's realised why I won't tell him who I like.
"Uh hello earth to y/n" I heard Mikes voice say "Uh what Australia" I say not knowing what the hell they were talking about, they all slightly laugh before Mr Clarke says "Don't worry you're not in class now but I can see nothings changed about you, still zoning out, not listening. I had just gotten out of the shower and got changed into a long t-shirt and bike shorts when there was a knock on the front door, I was the only one home so I had to get it. I drag my feet to the door opening it only to see "Steve, what the hell are you doing here at like 8:00 at night" "I'm sorry ok just let me come in and I'll explain" "Ok ok come on".
Steve explains how he went to see Nancy but when got to her window Jonathan was there comforting her and of course Steve thinks the worst if it. "Shit" I mumble under my breath "Ok stay here I'm gonna go make quick phone call, also next time you see Jonathan or Nancy try talking about it" I say walking into the living room "Wait why can't you just use the phone in your bedroom, y/n!"Steve calls after me but I don't bother answering.
"Come on pick up pick up" I'm calling Nancy's phone "Hi?" I here Jonathan's voice on the other end "Oh god Jonathan what happened, is Nancy ok?" "Wait y/n, how do you know what happened and yes Nancy is ok just a bit traumatised, the monster sort of attacked her but she's alright now, she didn't get hurt" "Oh ok thank god anyway gotta go bye" "Wait y/n hello ugh".
"So what was that about?" Steve questioned "Nothing important" "Alright then, um can I stay the night?" "Steve" I pause "you just complained about Nancy being with Jonathan and now you wanna stay at mine I mean I just don't" "No your right I should go" "Wait actually I'll let you stay but I get to educate you in good music, you're sleeping on the floor though, you can use the mattress from the spare room" "Ok fine".
