The young crown prince happily jumped off from his royal carriage upon arriving at his closest friend's manor.

"Eternal glory to the crown prince of Fein," all of the servants of the Duke's manor greeted him.

A happy grin was painted on his lips.

"Where is Zenon?" the blonde prince with beautiful emerald eyes asked the butler. "My father gifted me a new sword today. I want to let him see it and maybe have a little spar."

Ngunit nagulat siya nang makita ang mga malalamig na butil na pawis na tumutulo sa noo ng matandang butler ng dukedom.

"I-I apologize, your royal highness," the butler even stuttered while avoiding his gaze. "I guess this is not the right time to visit the young lord."

Nagtaka naman ang batang crown prince nang dahil sa nakikita niyang takot sa mukha ng mga servants ng kanyang kaibigan.

"What do you mean by that—-"

Ngunit hindi pa man niya natatapos ang sasabihin ay nagulantang siya sa isang malakas na sigaw na narinig sa buong kastilyo ng mga Aphelion.

Kaagad naman siyang napalingon sa pinagmulan nito at nakita niyang nagmula ito sa dungeon ng kastilyo.

Out of curiosity, the young crown prince followed the origin of the painful cries.

"Y-your highness!" the butler cried behind him. "Y-you must not come in this area! This is restricted to the visitors!"

Ngunit hindi siya nakinig sa butler.

Binuksan niya ang malalaking pintuan ng dungeon at ang nakakasulasok na amoy na iyon ang sumalubong sa ilong niya.

At naramdaman nalang niya ang unti-unting panlalaki ng mga mata pati narin ang panginginig nang dahil sa sumunod na nasaksihan.

After that day, the friendship between the crown prince and the young duke was never the same again.

Napabukas nalang ng mga mata si Alexandre nang maalala ang nangyari sa kanila ng batang duke noon.

Kasalukuyan parin siyang nakaupo sa study room at doon niya lang napagtanto na nakatulog pala siya matapos silang mag-usap ng dating kaibigan.

Nasa gan'on parin siyang posisyon nang biglang bumukas ang kwarto at isang knight ang pumasok.

"Eternal glory to the King of Fein," The knight greeted.

"At ease." His emerald eyes turned to the knight.

Kaagad namang yumuko ang knight bago nagsalita ulit.

"We have already found the evidence of the poison, your majesty." The knight reported. At hindi na siya nagulat sa sumunod na sinabi nito. "We found the remnants of poison into her highness' Freya's palace."

Napahinga nalang siya ng malalim at napahawak ng noo.

"I never thought that the lady Freya could do something like this," his voice is soft from the sadness of hearing this news. "Very well..."

He looked up and gave the rightful punishment  to the royal concubine.

"Pass on my imperial decree," He spoke. "The lady will be executed with treason for trying to poison the king. I heard that her mother was also convicted of the murder of the late duchess of the Dukedom of Burke. Let their execution date be with the same date."
