This is my story for #FebruaryJamFestival 2022 by @JamFestBC. It is very much a first draft, published as I was writing it for the Festival. I hope to come back to it someday and rewrite some of the rough parts. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm using a writing prompt. Monsta X fans see if you can tell what it is :) (or just look below).

Here's is my Blurb, again, any advice on how to make it better is always appreciated:

Jin Lancaster is a world-class athlete or was. At the top of her game, holding the world record in the women's 100 and 200-meter sprint, she collapsed on the field. Her running career lay in tatters, her health tenuous, Jin reaches out to the doctor who was the calm in the storm.

Ahn Kwang Jin wanted to follow in his father's footsteps, to a point. He loved being a doctor and was excited to start the sports medicine wing at his father's hospital. Being the lead Korean physician at the World Games was a dream, watching the Korean-American sprinting legend collapse on the track was a nightmare. She would only touch his life for a moment, but he couldn't completely forget her after she was gone.

Two very different people striving for the pot of gold at the end of their rainbow. Their lives intersect as they move in very opposite directions and then diverge again. Will they achieve their goals, or change them? Is it the winning that matters, or the dreaming?

The Dreaming by MONSTA X

Go on and get it, give it all you got

You'll never get over the view from the top

Just reach the finish, just ring the bell

You'll have trophies to show and stories to tell, yeah

It's hard not to believe it

But don't you get the feeling

If finding the gold is losing the rainbow

The colors are there/They're not the same though

Maybe you know/The moment you have it

But getting to hold it/Lets go of the magic

If touching the sky is why we are all reaching

Are we missing the point?

And missing the meaning?

Is it the knowing? (Ah-ah, yeah)

Is it the seeing? (Ah-ah, yeah)

Or is it the dreaming?

Is it the dreaming?

Remember that moment

Turn on like a light

You had nothing on paper/It was all in your mind

You saw it all perfect/It gave you a rush

And now I bet you right now/It probably still does

So if you're halfway through it

Would you even want to do it?

If finding the gold is losing the rainbow

The colors are there

They're not the same though

Maybe you know

The moment you have it

But getting to hold it

Lets go of the magic

If touching the sky is why we're all reaching

Are we missing the point?

And missing the meaning?

Is it the knowing? (Ah-ah, yeah)

Is it the seeing? (Ah-ah, yeah)

Or is it the dreaming?

Is it the dreaming?

If you're still smiling/We're owned by the God

If you've got the answer Let us all know

Is finding the gold worth losing the rainbow?

The colors are there/are they the same though?

Maybe you know the moment you have it

But getting to hold it lets go of the magic

If touching the sky is why we are all reaching

Are we missing the point?/Missing the meaning?

Is it the knowing? (Ah-ah, yeah)/Is it the seeing? (Ah-ah, yeah)

Or is it the dreaming?

Is it the dreaming?

Ah-ooh-ooh, ah-ooh-ooh-ooh
