Escape Plan

"Well?" Matthew asked. I took a medium sized breath. I hope he handles rejection Well.

"I do-"
"Aubrey!!!!! " Tasha called. "Hmm?" I Hummed. She smiled.

"Wanna go out for ice cream later?" I nodded. I watched as she gave Scott a kiss on the cheek and Hopped in my car. I really need a boyfriend.

I gave Matthew an apologetic smile and got in the car.

Thank you Tasha. I thought.

"So, did Logan ever talk to you?" I shook my head no as I Turned the corner. "He's been avoiding me all week. Then, he confronted me about when I told Marissa off for you three days later. I'm so glad it's Friday." I mumbled the last part.

"You know, Paige follows around Marissa like a lost puppy now." I nodded. "I'm glad they're friends. They're both unexplainably annoying."

"What were you and Matthew talking about?" I groaned. I knew she'd bring it up sooner or later. "Matty asked me to the dance." I stated flatly.

Tasha made the most high-pitched scream come out of her mouth. It was horrible. "Don't ever do that again or I'll sew your mouth shut. "

"Sorry" she mumbled.

"You should totally say Yes to him though. I thought you liked him."

"I did like him, and then I met him. I mean, he's nice but he likes me when I'm in all the crap I don't like to wear. You understand where I'm coming from Right?"

"Yeah. I just really think you and him would be a cute couple.

OH MY GOSH YOU KNOW WHO YOU SHOULD OUT WITH!?!?"

That,  my friends, is how Tasha screamed in my ear and almost made me crash into a pole. "TASHA!  Gosh! Don't do that!"

Is it normal to feel your ears throb?

"Who?" I asked. "Chris! You guys talk all the time in English and Science!"

I actually wouldn't mine going to the dance with him.  He's a sweet guy.

"Me and Chris are cool." She squealed. "I'll do some detective work and see if he likes you and then you two can date!  Bam! "

"I thought we were talking about who I'd go to the dance with... Oh, just what ever."

For the past few days, I've been avoiding Matthew at all costs. I've managed to do pretty good job at it too. It's been four days since he's asked me.  I mean, I feel bad for not meeting and avoiding him, but I don't really want to answer his question at the moment.

As I was walking to the lunch room, Matthew caught up to me. "Hey! Aubrey!"

"Hey Matty. " I said. "About the dance," he started. "I want to tell you that I already have someone to go to the dance with."

Oh Thank God!

"Okay." I said with a smile and continued to walk to the lunch table. Of course, Logan wasn't there. It's funny how your best friend leaves your aide because of their relationship.

Paige was at our table. Do I know why? No. She's having a conversation with Chris I guess.

When she left I asked Chris what she was doing at our table.

"She's going to he my date for the dance." He said.

Oh crap.

Of course. Of course. Of flipping course!! I guess I don't have a date to the dance. That's nice.

I don't have to go now. I don't have room wear a dress. I don't have to put on makeup. I don't have to look feminine. Woo! This is awesome!

I may hear a mouth full from Tasha but it's totally worth it. It is so worth it.
