Love Hate Relationship (Levi X Reader)

"Ugh, why do I have to see your face first day in the morning" I rolled my eyes as I walked towards my squad next to Levi's, my greatest rival and somehow my friend

"Why did you have to go out and show your face to me? Now my whole day is ruined" He sassed back. From the corner of my eyes I can see both our squad members giggling silently. At this point they're used to us bickering

"So, how many girls throw up when they saw you?" I smiled innocently while facing him. He raised his brow and slowly walked closer to me with his arms cross in his chest

"None actually. But I did hear a lot of them whisper how much they want to be mine tho" We both heard a couple of "oohh" from our squad but I didn't mind. I was just looking at Levi who has a small smirk on his face

"Are you sure? Maybe you're starting to hear things. You should try getting your ears cleaned or seeing a doctor maybe? You've been day dreaming wayyy too much" I turned my back to him and signalled my squad to go and practice 1v1 so we can actually get something done and not just fight against Levi

"I'm just stating facts my love" Everyone froze with what he said. We all looked at each other with wide eye, from the corner of my eyes I can see that the smirk on his face got bigger

"Maybe you're just jealous that a lot of people like me and a lot of people hate you" I faced him and raised my brow at him. Oh no Levi, if you think that you can distract me by calling me sweet names, you're so wrong

"Oh is that so? Then explain why I got these" I pulled papers out of my pockets while smirking. All of them are love letters. I just so happened to be liked by almost every single guy in this place

He was about to answer when someone suddenly cut us off

"You two are fighting again? Stop it will you? You guys are not kids anymore" We looked to the owner of the voice and saw Commander Erwin.  I saluted while Levi just let out a "tsk" sound

"Tell that to this brat" He gave me one last glance before going back to his squad and started training with them

"Seriously the both of you should focus on the upcoming expedition. The corps is decreasing everytime we go out, we need our soldiers to be better in the battle field" Now Hange joined us. Joined to scold me and Levi again to be exact

"Hange, you need to understand that not everyone will survive out there. No matter how skilled you are, there is still a pretty good chance that you won't make it" And that's the harsh truth that everyone needs to understand. Even the finest soldier can die out there when something goes wrong

"No matter how careful you are, you will never be safe" He was almost whispering but luckily we heard him just fine

"But we need to decrease the chance of someone dying out there. We need to save as many soldiers as we can" Erwin's right, we need to save those who don't have the courage to fight of just too weak to defend themselves. But what if because of that we die while we're trying to save another person's life?

"Try not to die when you're saving someone. The both of you are our greatest weapon. And if one of you dies, our chance to free humanity will decrease, a lot" Both me and Levi looked at each other but quickly looked away before nodding

"Let's all survive this" I smiled at all of them. Hange and Erwin also gave me a smile and nodded their head. We can make it!

"That bitch! How did she get away?!?" I was still complaining because the female Titan got away!

The commander already gave us the signal to regroup. Some soldiers are getting the corps of our comrades who sadly passed away in this mission

Things got so horribly wrong, things didn't go according to plan damn it! But luckily everyone from my squad is still alive, just injured but they'll live

"I'm so proud of you guys" I said and gave all of them a hug as they cried on my shoulders. I know it must've been scary for them, a lot of titans came our way and attacked us so we got separated for a while. I'm glad all of them made it

"Y/n, have you seen Levi? His squad is not here too" I broke the hug with my squad to look at Hange who's looking around the place

"What do you mean? He's not here? I thought he was following you guys?" I got out of the forest first because I was looking for my squad right after the female Titan escaped so they got left behind

"No, I think he was with Erwin. I heard Erwin order him to change his gas tanks. Why is he not back here? And his squad should've gotten here first considering that they got Eren with them" She continued to look around the place trying to spot Levi or just anyone from his squad

I didn't know why but I suddenly started to feel worried and tried to find Levi as well, I even ordered my squad to go ask our comrades if they've seen Levi

"I'll help you look. Let's split up" Hange nodded and went to the opposite direction as me. I just kept hoping that he's safe wherever he is

"You f*cking stupid short idiot! Where are you!" I cursed silently as I continue to ask people if they've seen Levi but all answers were no. I even went on top of the trees to try and find him but nothing. No Levi

"Have you seen Levi or anyone from his squad?" I asked the newbies who got to join us just a month ago. Poor kids

"No, but one of our friends is missing too. She suddenly run of inside the forest, she seems like she was in a hurry" A kid who looked like a horse said. He seems worried about that friend of his

"Yeah, and Eren doesn't seem to be anywhere. Do you know where he is?" A kid with blonde hair asked. Oh I know them! They're Eren's friends!

I was about to answer when someone suddenly cut me off by shouting Levi's name. I looked in front of me and saw Levi carrying a slimy Eren in his arms and also a girl who I'm guessing is one of Eren's friends

Once they landed he passed Eren to the girl and I hurriedly went towards him and gave him a hug which caught everyone off guard

"You fucking idiot! How could you just disappear like that! I thought you were coming! Do you even know how long we've been looking for you?!?" I scolded him. I could feel that a lot of people are looking at us in shock, I can even tell that Levi is shocked as well

"Are you okay?" I pulled away from him and scanned him from up and down and noticed that he's limping

"What happened?" I asked as I lead him to one of the carts and made him sit on the edge of it while I got a med kit

"Levi, where's your squad? I haven't seen them anywhere!" I looked up and saw Hange. I noticed how as soon as Hange mentioned Levi's squad there was a glimpse of sadness in his eyes but was soon gone and was replaced by his stoic expression

"They're gone" Both me and Hange gasped in surprised. I even dropped the med kit as soon as I heard what he said

"A-all of them?" Hange made sure and Levi nodded, refusing to meet our eyes

"Oh My Gosh" I stood up and walked around, still trying to process what he just said. How? How are they gone?

"I-ill go tell Erwin" Hange immediately scurried off to find Erwin. I looked at Levi and saw that he's looking down on the ground, suddenly small droplets of water came down from his eyes

"I'm sorry for your lost" I made him look at me and he immediately pulled me close and buried his face on my stomach whilst holding me tight

"I-i couldn't do anything. I-i tried, I promise. I shouldn't have left them there" He sobbed silently to not grab any attention from other people. I rubbed his back and tried to comfort him

"Shhh, I know you did. I know you tried your best. But just like what you said before, no matter how skilled you are, you will never be safe" All of the people in his squad, they were really skilled but somehow they died. That's how harsh the world is

In that time, we had each other. He needed me and I was there for him. We lost a lot today, and we will mourn together. We might say harsh stuff towards each other but that won't change the fact that we still care about one another
