"Baciato dal chiaro di luna, in compagnia del silenzio, seguo la via che costeggia l'ombra affidandomi al vuoto."

Since I started writing, the intention has never been to actually write poetry. I just wrote to feel better, to vent in those moments I felt bad, overwhelmed and without a way out, when I felt darkness swallowing me and carrying me in the void.

As the time passed, my feelings began to flow more and more easily, and the need to express even more in detail the millions of shades deep inside of me, made me start to use words which aimed to transmit the exact same sensations.

Genuinely, those massive blocks of confused thoughts slowly began to gain a shape, first with the elegance of words, then with the deep research of what was the cause of my suffering, and eventually with the style of poems, using verses and stanzas.

Every single word began to gain a special meaning which couldn't be ignored to understand the whole thought of that moment. Emphasis and nostalgia coloured the letters of my writings, making them alive. Every poem became a little fragment of me, a key to my heart, a little memory of me which will remain once I'm no more, a forgotten shadow in the canvas of eternity.

A characteristic of my poetry is the language I use. Even though English is not my first language, I started to vent and write in English. Only months later I noticed that some of my emotions could be transmitted better in different languages, especially Italian, my first language. The magic of languages, in my opinion, is exactly this one. Even though translating is always possible, each language is able to express a same sensation in a different way. It was so natural for me starting to use different languages to reflect better the message I wanted to represent.

In those cases, I decided to show both the version in original language and the English translation of it, so that everyone can understand the meaning but also, hopefully, catch a little of the beauty of the original text.

To conclude, I would like to thank you for reading these poems of mine. Hopefully someone will understand the true meaning hidden behind words, and catch a glimpse of the fragmented soul of mine. A special thanks also to Chaos, whose unique friendship and support gave me the motivation, day after day, to keep on writing and expressing myself through my art. Always keep the flame burning.
