(Original Italian version)
Ardono
le catene,
ricordo della mia
prigionia.
Più mi divincolo
più si irrigidiscono
intorno a me,
cingendomi più stretto
nella fossa che chiamo
casa.
Il sadico aguzzino,
che tanto gode
della mia tragedia,
mi offre la chiave,
giorno dopo giorno,
mostrandomi la via
per la libertà.
Ma la mia mente,
annebbiata dal delirio,
ama la mia fredda gabbia
e il mio stato di
condanna.
Dimentico della mia natura,
altro non sono
che prigioniero di
me stesso,
rallegrandomi nervoso
nella perversa lotta
di cui sono causa
ultima.

(Translated English version)
Burning
chains,
memento of my
confinement.
The more I wiggle out of them
the more they harden
around me,
enclosing me
in the pit I call
home.
The sadistic captor,
who relishes so much
my tragedy,
offers me the key,
day after day,
showing me the way
to freedom.
But my mind,
blurred by delirium,
loves the cold cage
and my state of
condemnation.
Forgetting my nature,
I am nothing
but prisoner of
myself,
pleasing me nervously
in the twisted fight
of which I am ultimate
cause.
