Sabrina checked her plasma rifle one last time, just to ease her nerves. She was hoping it wouldn't be needed; didn't even see the point in it. Captain Mercea had said just before they left that he felt it was necessary.
"Alright," Mercea announced as their ship landed. "You know the drill. No firing unless fired upon. No use in risking lives for stupidity. Our mission is to establish communications." The door opened wide with a loud metallic squeal. "Sabrina, secure the area."
Sabrina's knuckles whitened as her grip tightened. Steeling herself, she took the first steps out ahead everyone, checking each and every shadow and dark corner. Stopping about a hundred feet away from the ship, she raised her hand and motioned for the group to fallow.
