The tension in Red Bear's eyes eased. Mambo's silver ones looked up, asking the silent 'What were we worried about?'
Without warning, the ship rocked; knocking many off their feet. Yuki's reflexes allowed her to stay up right. She joined Jon Paul, who had already set to work figuring out was going on as the pupils of his eyes turned milky.
A warning was flashing annoyingly loud on the paneling, video feed showing a ship coming into view. It's red and black paint shimmering in the light of the distant star, casting great shadows towards the back of the hull. The outlines of dark figures were the only thing visible through the panes of glass to the main deck.
Yuki tried to make them out, but couldn't. Only their strange dialect came to her in her head. The dialect didn't match up even in the slightest to those of her memory. "It's not xelrion," Yuki blurted out to Red Bear.
"I don't know who they are either." Jon Paul looked up from what he was doing, the milkiness fading.
Mambo stayed silent; mind now distracted by the smell slowly filling the room. He stood ready; ready to fight, ready for something to burst through the doors.
