So I was reading the Webtoon version of 'The Wrath and the Dawn', written by Renee Ahdieh, illustrated by the SUPERBLY talented Sylvester Vitale, who really brings the culture and world of a fantasy kingdom to LIFE.
It's a retelling of the 1000 Arabian Nights, and it. Is. GORGEOUS.
It's about this evil (but annoyingly hawt) king who seems to marry a girl everyday only to murder her, because of some curse. The story follows the MC Shahrzad, who volunteers to marry the King, and uses cliffhangers to keep herself alive (YES THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT SHE DOES)
So someone in the story attempted to poison Shahrzad, so a food taster named Asha now tastes all her food before she eats it.
