Racheal's POV
I was walking with Mika towards her house, well our house I guess, when I spotted a man in front of our house. I must've visibly paled because Mika put the back of her hand to my forehead.
"Are you okay?" She asks, I nod my head slightly, I don't look away from the man. I see AJ and Luke cheerfully, talking to him and crying, AJ only cries when she feels a strong wave of happiness or sadness. That could only mean one thing, my dad is here.
"Shit" I muttered under my breath
Mika stopped abruptly, she put a hand on my shoulder "alright what's wrong? you never try to hide a cuss."
I sighed "I'll explain inside, but, can we like climb through a window?"
She looked at me suspiciously but I said "I will explain in the room." She nods at me. We go to the side of the house and she grabs some vines and pushes them out of the way to reveal pegs in the wall. I was about to ask her what with the pegs but she seemed to have read my mind
"don't ask about it," she told me, she climbed up and I followed after.
"So," she said, " care to explain why we had to come to my room through the window and not the front door?"
I sighed "well the thing is, there's a guy at the front of your house and that guy just so happens to be my dad."
"How do you know it's your dad?"
"AJ was crying, she only does that when she's really happy or really sad," I say. My hands are trembling at a memory I had when I was a kid. Mika noticed and hugged me. "You're not okay, you want to talk about it?"
"Sure," I said shakily "My mom is a single mom when I was little, they both got in a bad argument, my dad loved to go out, and little did we know he was cheating on mom. I heard snippets of the conversation cause I was walking past. 5 minutes later dad comes out with a suitcase, and my mom is clutching her cheek, crying," I could feel tears brimming in my eyes. She saw this and she instantly hugged me tighter and whispered sweet nothings in my ear. After 10 minutes of this, she asked me
"Do you want to see your dad now?"
I wiped my face and said, "yeah, let me wash my face first." I got up and washed my face and went downstairs with Mika. I clutched her hand. The man looked puzzled and asked, "who are you?" AJ looked shocked "You don't remember your last daughter?" "Oh my hello dear Racheal, look how much you've grown" " Mr. Goldstein, what are you doing here?" I ask as politely as I can.
I'm here to take you to your new house with me."
My heart dropped from there.
