Chapter 55 - It broke

Xiao's POV

"Even if I killed them, it wouldn't solve the problem."

 Ugh! This is definitely not what Istaroth meant by retirement.

 "I should probably tell them what's going on first."

 I once again turned to the group behind the barrier and was faced with a rather pleasant surprise.

 "That's one hell of a place to trigger that shield!"

 It was blocking the exit. They couldn't come in, but...

 "I don't have to worry about these guys getting out either."

 There's at least one positive point in all this.

 Seeing the little more favorable situation, instead of dispersing the barrier, I opted for teleporting to the other side.

 There, however, I was faced with quite the situation.

 "Just what was that? Is everything all right?" Kokomi asked anxiously the moment I appeared on the other side.

 "Well, the situation is under control for now-"

 "That's not what I meant! Are you okay Xiao? You're not hurt anywhere are you?"

 "Yeah right! Even with the shield, we still felt some of the impact so let alone you without it. If you're hurt, you need to tell us!" Yoimiya joined in as well.

 "They're right, Xiao. If you're hurt, you need to say it. If it's not too serious it can be healed. Isn't that right, my lady?" Kazuha spoke up.

 "Yes, that's right! Just tell me if you're hurt anywhere so I can take a look at it."

 Though the others didn't speak up, they too looked worried.

 When was the last time anyone was worried for me?

 Aside from Venti, no one has ever been worried for me to this extent.

 Sure Morax did express his concerns multiple times, especially in the last few years, but aside from those two...

 "I'm fine really."

 "You're not lying are you?" Yoimiya looked at me suspiciously.

 "I'm really okay."

 "Sit down and let me take a look at you." Kokomi demanded.

 Oh, there was another person who acted like this.

 "Oh my, Xiao, you're covered in blood again!"

 "It's not mine-"

 "Come here and sit down. Let me take a look at you." She said pointing to a sickbed.

 "There's really no need, lady Guizhong."

 "Hmph! You think I don't know about your tendency to not look after yourself? Come here and sit down!"

 "Lady Guizhong..."

 "Now, Xiao!"

 "But the battle is still-"

 "If Morax has any complaints, he can come to me. Now hurry up and sit down!"

 "Hah, fine, just this once."

 "Not just this once! You really need to start taking care of yourself better! You'll make the people who care about you worry! If you're not capable of taking care of yourself, at least let someone else take care of you!"
