My Brother's Best Friend [Unedited]

We went out to dinner at a sushi place. The inside was really nice. I've never been here before, but Arthur and Alyssa seemed to have come here a lot since they knew the menu really well. Although it was a dinner with Arthur as well I'm still excited to get to know her. I couldn't help but feel nervous. It took a couple of minutes but we were brought to a secluded area and we were seated. Once we settled in I asked, "So Alyssa, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself." She looked shocked that I was interested to get to know her and asked that question. Once she recovered from her shock she spoke up "I am from Monaco born and raised. I'm an only child and I am 21 years old. I model and have popular social media accounts along with a youtube channel." I noticed that she didn't talk about her family. I didn't want to push her but I was also curious as to why she didn't talk about them. She looked at Arthur as I think talking about herself made her slightly uncomfortable. I decided to tell her about myself and change the topic to her work as well. "As you know I am Arthur's older brother and am an F1 driver for Ferarri. I also have an older brother named Lorenzo. I am 23 years old. I also have lived in Monaco my whole life. My mom is my favorite person unfortunately as you may know from Arthur our father passed away in 2017."

After discussing the basics of who I am and what happened to my father there was a bit of a silence. I decided to break the silence and tension by asking about her work. "How did you get into modeling and social media." Alyssa looked up "I got into modeling and social media as a hobby at first; I never thought I would make a living doing it but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Due to my work, I am my own boss at least for my youtube and social media. I am able to make flexible hours which allows me to travel whether it means I'm making videos or just traveling to visit friends. I am grateful for my job because it also allows me to visit and witness my best friend living out his dream." I looked at her in awe at how happy she is talking about her work. I also love how supportive she is of Arthur. After talking for a bit we were able to put in our order. After about an hour or so our food came. Once the food came there wasn't a lot of conversation due to how hungry we were. However, I did notice that somehow Arthur and Alyssa were able to have a conversation just by giving each other different looks.

I couldn't help but wish that was me and her instead of Arthur which I know is stupid since Arthur is my little brother and that is his best friend. After a while, that night was ending and we were all getting ready to leave which means that Alyssa will be going home separately from Arthur and me. We went out to our cars and said goodbye to each other. Alyssa looked at me and gave me a quick side hug goodbye. Then she turned to Arthur and gave him a big bear hug saying "I'll see you tomorrow probably since we can't go too long without seeing each other." They both laughed and pulled away from the hug.

Once I made it back to my apartment after Arthur's race and dinner I decided that I should take a quick shower and relax for the night. I took a nice warm shower, changed into sweats and a t-shirt, and turned my tv on to watch some Netflix. After watching an episode or two of Arrow I pulled my phone out to check Instagram. I was also debating whether or not I should dm Alyssa. As I was scrolling through Instagram I saw both Arthur and Alyssa posted pictures while out at dinner.

alyssabrennan: So freaking happy that my best friend got P1. This is my mood tonight after Arthur's win and being treated to my favorite sushi restaurant by my best friend. Everyone go say congratulations to @arthurleclerc
