You had been to family dates with Suki and Kenma before, albeit only twice. So perhaps it wasn't exactly surprising that you feel a bit excited that this time, it will not just be the three of you.

"This is Suki's last day of school," you muttered with a sigh, as you look out the window of the car while Kenma drives to school to pick up the little girl. "I can't believe how quickly time passes. She'll be in grade school soon, and then high school and then college and she'll start living on her own."

While you were staring at the passing trees and buildings, you couldn't help but think of it as how children grow up so fast. So quickly, like the blurring images from a speeding car. You take your eyes off them for a moment and the next thing you know they're already standing on their feet, walking and then running, farther and farther until you can no longer see them ahead.

It was the sad reality of being a parent that you haven't exactly thought about before, not until Suki came into your life. No, not until you came into Suki and Kenma's lives.

You let out another sigh, as the car slowed down and you saw the school up ahead. There are already lots of cars and parents.

"We're not late, right?" you asked, briefly looking at your wristwatch as the car stopped.
