Chapter 01: Nightmares

Shadow's Pov:

I catched my breath after running away from a bunch of soldiers, While maria did the same too. I looked around the room, I saw a lots of buttons. Still don't have any idea's what are those for.

We then suddenly heard a deafening bang in the metal door, I was alarmed at that sound and was about to grab maria's hand when the metal door unexpectedly blow out. Soldiers then arrived.

"Catch them before they escape!!" One of the soldiers declared.

Before i could scream maria's name, I saw her pushed a button and all of a sudden I have been placed on a tube. "What?!!" I yelled, Even though no one could hear me anymore. "Shadow..I beg for you, Please do it for me.." I then heared maria's voice. "For all the people who are living on that planet.." Those words are hurting me so far, I could hear the ark collapse. "Sayonara, Shadow.." It was the last time i saw her face, Tears started to fall in to her cheeks. This memory of mine, Will never stop haunting me. Even though i wanted to move on so badly, I couldn't...It was too difficult. Perhaps memories are the reason why i can't move on.

I woke up panting at the nightmare i had again. When will this memories stop huanting me, I get it. I never wanted maria to perish that young..She still had dreams she wanted to fulfill, Just like living on this planet. She made me contented, happy, and furthermore made me feel loved for the first time. But now, i feel like it would never feel the same again. Even if i tried to anyway. But what if i tried? I never tried nor Give it a chance. Except who can make me feel that way again?

I Pushed those thoughts of mine, I got out of bed and stretched a bit. Another ordinary day ugh..

I then took a shower, And dried my quills. After that i walked downstairs to make a coffee. I usually have this as my breakfast, Because of those nightmares. I'm always running late for work. God, I will probably get scolded again by the commander. He despises me. I then finished my coffee and headed towards my door. I started putting my socks, air shoes and gloves on. Ready to feel the exhaustion. again. i hate that honestly.

While i was walking I can feel the relaxing air, And sunshine in my skin. Oh i like this feeling, But i soon got interrupted by someone tapping my shoulders. I opened my eyes and turned to my right, Only to see the azure hedgehog. With a cocky grin on his cheeks "Good morning shads!" faker said happily, I don't get it why he always had that smile. I  don't hate it..but i actually..like it. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked annoyed, He chuckled at my reaction. "Oh just taking a stroll, What about you?" He spoke, Not having any interest in answering his question. Since i don't have any time to be scolded by the commander again. It's not that im scared, I'm irritated. 

Sonic's Pov:

I was expecting an answer from shadow, But i didn't get one. "Oh come on shads, I'm just curious..!" I pouted, He's always like this whenever i tried to come up a conversation with him. Some people is having a hard time talking to him, But not for me! "No" 

"Awww..Why?!"

"Ill be late for work again, So will you stop irritating me" Oh wow, I didn't know he had a job. But where though? He didn't mentioned this. Shadow sure is not an open person if you would ask me. "Oh, alright then" I said, Watching him leave. I really wished that i had a chance to be his friend..He looks so lonely all the time, Besides he doesn't seem to like someone like me. He thinks im annoying, Hmph! I could do better!

"Hurry up sonic!" Knuckles shouted from the living room, Rouge planned a party this night. I wouldn't have come but tails really forced me, After all i needed a break from my hero stuffs. Rouge also mentioned that shadow is coming, I wasn't expecting that but i was looking forward for it. This is my chance. "Alright! Alright just give me 5 more minutes!!" I said aloud.

5 minutes had passed, And we are ready to leave my house. Tails will not be able to come, Since he's still working on an invention that he must finish. He also needs a break from all of that, But he won't listen. I decided not to make it a big deal because it's his decision after all. 

We finally arrived at the party, A few of them already started the fun. Damn look how amazing the decorations is, As i wandered around the place. I saw a lot of appetizing foods in the table, And i noticed that they also serve chilidogs. That's when i started to dig in. I only ate a few, But i assure i was full right away. I rested a bit and started heading out of that room. 

As i was walking out of the room, I could already hear the loud music. I saw a lot of people dance around the area, Some are drinking alcohol at the counter. Including knuckles and rouge,  I know they like each other for so long, Even so, They still denied to tell each other what they feel individually. Oh how simple it is to put someone in  your heart, But demanding to put them in your life. But there's still hope, They will eventually tell each other at the right time. I know them. I then decided to join the crowds dance.

Shadow's Pov:

"Hey hun, Why aren't you having fun?" I heard rouge spoke behind me. "Do you think i will have fun after dragging me, I already told you i don't like this kind of stuff" I crossed my arms, Showing her that i don't really have any interest. "Oh come on, I only dragged you here to find someone. You always look so lonely all the time" She answered, Really? To find someone? 

"Rouge, You know that i don't have time for that.."

"Well you have now" Im getting irritated at this conversation, This is a waste of time. I stood up, heading to the counter. "Where are you going?"

"Go away" Was the only word that came out of my mouth. I sat to the counter's chair, And i noticed that faker is also there, Drinking. I did not know that he drinks alcohol. "Oh hey shads~" He's definitely drunk.

"You're drunk." I said to faker "You should stop"

"How about no" Yes, They should call him 'Sonic the stubborn hedgehog' 

"Whatever" 

He hummed. And out of nowhere, He suddenly fell to my chest. I should probably put him to bed, I won't be dealing with this much longer. I hate this. "Get up faker!"

I placed his arms in the back of my neck, And held him. Struggling to walk, I will kill this hedgehog tomorrow.

As soon as we arrived at one of the rooms, I threw sonic on the bed. I sat on the side of the bed to rest, But i then heard sonic mumble.

"Shadow?" 

"Hmm?" I faced to his side, To check if he wanted anything. He then surprisingly grabbed my wrist, Causing our nose to meet. I never would've imagine us in this position, What is he going to do now...I swear he's really dead. I saw him open his eyes and smirked. I blushed. That was unexpected, But alright..i admit it. He was kind of hot when he did that, God..I no longer know what my mind just said. All of a sudden, I felt my heart beat run faster. What is this?? Am i..? No, I can't be allowed to do that. He's my rival! I hate him, I'm supposed to hate him, Not..Love him. 

I soon started to feel a soft and tender lips on mine. Only to see sonic, I was planning on breaking the kiss but, it's too late for that. Before you know it, I melted to the kiss. I don't want to break the kiss, It's..so sweet. I kissed back, Feeling satisfied afterwards. What is happening? Is he for real?! I never knew he felt this way..No. Im not sure if he's doing this to show me that..He has feelings for me? Or..Lust. He might have found me attractive for some reason if that is the cause. What? HE finds me attractive?! This is making me INSANE! I need answers!!
