i lied, or at least not intentionally. when i said we'll go back down in two minutes i actually thought we would but elton had other plans.

"lila, i'm starting to feel like its been more than two minutes"

"we should be going down at any moment"

"i can't feel my face"

"but i lo-"

"sorry, i couldn't help it"

"this ride sucks"

"its so fucking co-"

co-"byeeee guyss"

l-"what?"

c-"did he just say bye?"

l-"those assholes are leaving us"

i shivered and handed the camera to colby.

"why didn't i think to bring a jacket?"

"i was gonna ask you but the last time i did that you got mad at me and said fashion over pain"

"im regretting my words. holy shit its so cold"

"i could try to give you my hoodie"

"colby you will not be doing that while we are a hundred feet in the air. wait until we are on the ground"

"okok"

we sat in silence for about 3 minutes before colby sighed.

"what did we get ourselves into?"

"i have no idea but if all of the trip is going to be like this then i might go home instead"

"come on now, you're not having fun?"

"no colby, i am not having fun. im cold and want to eat the biggest fucking burger i can find"

"you swear a lot when you're angry"

"so i've been told"

he laughed but immediately yelped as the ride started to move backwards. i laughed as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it as we slowly made it closer to the guys.

c-"are we done?"

l-"elton castee i am so mad at you"

co-"awww look their holding hands"

l-"corey, i won't hesitate to throw a golf ball at your head"

e-"how about a baseball?"

co-"elton, dont give her ideas"

s-"did you guys have fun?"

c-"fun is not the word i would choose"

l-"im so fucking cold"

e-"oh yeah, didn't think about the fact you were wearing a tank top"

j-"if she gets hypothermia, you're paying the hospital bills"

e-"how do we feel about playing baseball?"

l-"if it'll make me warmer im down"

co-"elton you are giving her an opportunity to use a baseball bat against you"

e-"she won't do anything until i buy her the milkshake"

l-"i've added on a burger and fries"

e-"that all my life is worth? a burger, some fries, and a milkshake?"

l-"yes, but times six"

i smiled while they all laughed. we walked over to the batting cages and each put on a helmet. up first was jake who jokingly put on his helmet backwards so he couldn't see. as soon as the balls starting shooting out we yelled swing. after jake, colby and elton went.
