Chapter Twenty-Four

Y/n smiled as he slid down the paper wing onto the soft soil. Standing beside him, his entire class stood in a straight line.

"Alright!" Kami shouted, "This is an extremely low ranking mission, but do not let your guard down!!"

Y/n scanned his class.

Everyone looks good in their new uniforms. Hyewon noona looks really good though... She's always been pretty.

"For the sake of ease, you will be moving in your own teams of three. The highest ranking member on your team will be the captain. I will be keeping watch outside to make sure no one enters. In the future, don't be surprised if you're paired with other members of your class—or even people above or below you."

Now that I think about it, all of the girls in this class look really pretty in the new uniforms. The few guys here look cool though. I wonder if I look cool.

"Are you ready to depart?"

"Yes!" The class replied in unison.

"Alright. Make sure not to stray too far from the group."

On the dirt path, Y/n watched birds fly overhead. Multiple smaller animals including rabbits and squirrels traveled through the surrounding foliage. From behind him, Y/n felt a finger tap on his shoulder, prompting him to turn around.

"Hey, Oppa," Minju grinned, "Are you excited?"

Y/n smiled, "Yeah. Very."

Y/n glanced at Minju's outfit, feeling a rush of blood to his face.

So beautiful...

Over her dark gray shirt which tucked into similarly colored pants, Minju, like the rest of the first years, wore a lime green vest with multiple pockets lining the clothing. Located slightly above her breast pocket, Minju's name stood prominently inside a laurel wreath.

"This uniform really compliments you," Y/n commented.

Upon receiving the compliment, Minju's eyes lit up while her face changed to a light tint of pink.

"Thank you, Oppa. You look really cool in your uniform too."

Nearby, Nako rolled her eyes, "Hii-chan, they're flirting again."

"Let them be," Hitomi replied, "There's nothing wrong with it."

"But it's gross."

Hitomi hummed causing Nako to turn to the peach girl--noticing the serious nature of her best friend.

"What are you looking for?"

"I'm looking out for anything dangerous."

Nako looked around, noticing Minho, Eunbi and Yujin doing the same.

Huh... I guess that's something the top of the class does.

"We have Mr. Shin with us though. I'm sure there's no need to worry."

"Even with Mr. Shin around, letting our guard down isn't something we should do while outside the city walls," Hitomi argued, "Unlike in there, these areas aren't crawling with police officers and instructors."

Nako sighed, "I guess that makes sense."

Just as she finished her conversation, a faint sound of nearby bushes rustling caught Nako's attention.

What was that?

"I heard the bushes rustling nearby, Mr. Shin." Liz commented, "Is there something in there?"
