Junho held his breath behind the green wall of the bushes at the edge of the clearance. Footsteps rushed past his position, growing faint as time passed.

I just need to get as many as I can.

The man gathered whatever small solid objects he could find, pocketing it. In the open field, Mrs. Yabuki and a worried Miyeon stood their ground.

"How many are here?" Miyeon asked under her breath.

"I'm not sure," Mrs. Yabuki sighed, "Just focus on fighting and look out for projectiles."

Though she didn't put much trust in the shorter woman, Miyeon let out a heavy sigh, opting to follow through with the plan. She didn't have much of a choice anyway.

With the encroaching forces closing in on the two women, Miyeon charged forward--igniting her hands.

Focus on taking down the person in front of you.

Balls of fire flew through the field, engulfing multiple groups of foot soldiers. On a somewhat smaller scale, Miyeon swayed with each step toward her opponents. Her fists hovered close to her face--the flames seemingly alive themselves.

Dueling. That's all this is. Lots and lots of dueling.

Suddenly a large boom lightning crashed at the edge of the oncoming soldiers, quickly led by explosions, gusts of wind and icy plumes.

Are those enemy Alleles?! No. They're just like Junho ssi's explosion from earlier. How is he doing that though?

Junho sprinted through the edge of the clearing, marking the stone in his hand with a glyph--tossing it before quickly arming his next projectile.

I still have plenty of time left on Eye of Insight, so I should be fine doing this.

Junho threw his next stone, stopping just before a condensed beam of light--its heat nearly charring his clothes.

"How underhanded of you--attacking from cover..."

"Light," Junho gritted his teeth, "You might be Wang Yiren."

"You know of me?" Yiren smirked as she emerged from the trees, "Good. I'll spare you so you can spread my name back at your home country."

Junho clenched the pebble in his hand, marking it with a pulsating white glyph.

"You underestimate me."

Yiren tilted her head, "Are you sure? What can you do against me?"

Junho threw his primed projectile toward the woman causing her to blast it with a ray of light. As soon as her attack made contact, the glyph atop the pebble burst outward with a blinding light--blindsiding the woman.

"You dare use light against me?!" Yiren shouted, "I control it!!"

Junho blinked next to the young woman, his eyes trained on his targeted spot.

"It was just a distraction. It's my weakest element after all."

Before she could react, the man thrusted his palm to her ribs, knocking her down. To Yiren's surprise he promptly fled leaving her seemingly alone in the edge of the woods.

"That piece of shit," Yiren cursed, "He thinks he can humiliate me and run away? I'll kill him."

Shortly after Junho's departure, a hissing sound stemmed from Yiren's ribs drawing her attention to the green glyph pulsating like a parasite attached to its prey.

"What is this?!"

Junho darted toward the center of the battlefield, pressing against the glyph on his arm once more.
