Minju panted, wiping the sweat from her forehead. Next to her, Dayeon and Yena fought to catch their breath. Burn marks and bruises covered the three girls, and in front of the team, Ms. Kang stood with her orb of energy hovering above her head.
Minju glanced toward her teammates, nodding before turning invisible.
"I may not be able to see you, but I can still sense you, Kim Minju!" Ms. Kang shouted.
Yena charged forward with her sharpened claws, narrowly dodging the barrage of energy blasts raining down from above. Slightly behind her, Dayeon pressed on the older's back, shooting her forward.
Now alone, Dayeon braced for the oncoming blasts, trying her best to change the trajectory of each projectile with her Allele before it could burn her.
To the side, Minju ran cautiously, dodging the energy blasts with better ease than Yena. As she grew closer, Minju's eyes began to glow a faint white, increasing her speed.
Ms. Kang watched the approaching duck, dodging the first swipe of her talons. Like all of her previous attempts, Yena pressured the instructor with a flurry of swipes only for Ms. Kang to kick her away and barrage her with a series of energy wisps.
Suddenly, Ms. Kang's head reeled to the side, followed by the sound of skin against skin.
"Way to go Minju ya!!" Yena shouted.
Minju continued her assault on the instructor, causing the older to expel a wave of energy, knocking Minju to the ground.
"Well done you three," Ms. Kang complimented, "You're growing more and more--Minju especially. I can tell you've at least jumped a rank."
Minju's eyes widened, "Really?!"
Ms. Kang nodded, "You're growing really well."
Minju's smile grew to her ears, putting her on her feet.
"Thank you, Ms. Kang!!"
Toward the academy building, Ms. Ezaki stood over her three students with her arms crossed. The trio sat with their legs crossed, backs straight, eyes closed, and hands sitting in their laps. In a separate section of the field, Ms. Choi stood before her students nodding.
"Okay. I understand what you two can do. I apologize if my instructing isn't up to par--I don't really teach combat."
Nako waved her hands, "No- It's okay!! You were forced into this job."
Ms. Choi clasped her hands together, closing her eyes.
"Let's get this teaching started."
In the teacher's mind, a live image of the world around her appeared with a large circle spreading from her position. Her senses extended to everything down to each atom, giving her perfect sight of everything.
Suddenly, the grass beneath the three turned to a soft stone. Tall walls of similar material rose from the ground around the group with windows and an open roof.
"Now we won't be interrupted by anyone. Feel free to start whenever you want."
Bae glanced toward Nako, nodding. While Bae clasped his hands together, creating two of his canine companions, Nako weaved together the seals for her stone gauntlets.
Those gauntlets are significantly smaller than I've heard they are. She's refined it.
Nako charged the taller woman head on, throwing her fist directly at the teacher's head.
To the surprise of both students, the ground around Ms. Choi warped, rising to protect the teacher from the incoming blow.
Bae extended his arm, commanding the dogs to pounce on his teacher.
