Eyes starting to close, you saw a familiar face flying towards Aether. With a similar sword in her hand to the one that Aether had held before, the girl attacked the herald hitting him away from Aether. Slamming into the mountain not too far away, the herald slowly got up feeling the strong force of the hit.

While the herald was slowly getting up from the mountain, the girl - Lumine - took Aether’s arm and helped him up. Before anything could happen to you, Lumine blasted the enemies around you by pointing her sword in her direction. A golden beam of light blasting the enemies away from you, Lumine flew to you and helped you up.

Holding both you, Aether, and Paimon, Lumine shouted, “Away!”

Suddenly feeling your body become as light as a feather, you closed your eyes in reaction. Once again you felt your weight return and out of nowhere, you were in a room. Looking around, you covered your nose as soon as you could feel yourself about to sneeze. Seeing that the room was covered with dust, Lumine clapped her and with instantaneous magic, the room was clean. Laying her brother on a bed, she sat next to him.

“I’m sorry that you had to go through all that,” Lumine said after a while of silence.

“Please,” you looked at her with pitying eyes. “Tell me what happened? What’s going on?”

Lumine closed her eyes before looking at you, her eyes void of any emotion as she traveled through her memories of the time when she had traversed through Teyvat.

“I also had my own adventures through Teyvat like Aether but rather than the 7 lands of Teyvat, I was stuck in Khaenri'ah but it wasn’t all that bad,” Lumine started her story.

After listening to Lumine’s story, you couldn’t help but pity the female traveler who had gone through so much. She had seen the destruction of Khaenri'ah, a place that she had called home. She had lost so many people that she had grown close to. She had faced the obstruction of the land that she had traversed.

Hearing her story made you understand everything that she had done. It wasn’t a wrong decision, if anything if you were in her shoes you would have most likely done the same. It was only now that she realized just what she had done and the drastic situations that her decisions had led to the land.

Walking up to the melancholy-looking twin of Aether, you gave her a hug hoping that somehow someway your warmth would be some sort of comfort to her. It was a heavy burden that she had only recently learned so the things that were going through her mind, you were definitely sure that you wouldn’t understand. At times like that, you were glad for the saying that ignorance was bliss.

Quietly sobbing as you hugged her, Lumine welcomed your warmth and comfort and the two of you continued in silence. A comforting moment of consolation after everything that she had gone through was all that she needed.

Releasing you from the hug, Lumine walked towards the door and wiped away her tears. Leaving you and Aether in the room alone as Paimon had decided to accompany the blonde-haired girl, you sat on the side of the bed that Lumine had earlier sat on.

“Aether,” you murmured to yourself. “Please wake up. I need to tell you something. I need to tell you that I also love you and that it would make me the happiest person in the world if we could go out. I need to tell you just how much you mean to me. I need to tell you just how much you changed my life. I need to say thank you.”

“Then tell me,” Aether slowly opened his eyes and he held your wrist. “You can tell me.”

Standing up in shock as Aether sat up from where he was laying, you immediately gave him a tight hug in joy. Tears falling down your cheeks as Aether was now awake, you could feel your heart skip a beat as you saw his shining golden brown eyes that you so dearly missed.

“Aether,” you hugged him, the anxiety that you had been feeling ever since he passed out finally leaving you. “Aether. Thank you so much for waking up. You have no idea just how scared I was.”

Aether smiled at you with his usual smile which made your heart beat faster. Each moment that you spent with the traveler made you fall more in love with him. His little dimple, his small smiles, his shining eyes, his little eyebrow raise whenever he was curious. You couldn’t help but notice the little things that made Aether, Aether.

“I love you Aether,” you confessed, finally telling him the feelings that you had accumulated for him after the moments that you had spent together. It may have been short but those days, those weeks, and the months that you had spent together greatly left a lasting impression on you.

“Thank you for reciprocating my feelings y/n,” Aether hugged you tighter. “It means so much. I haven’t felt this way for someone. You’re the first.”

Sitting on the bed together, the two of you cherished this lovely moment with each other as the feelings that have been growing were now seen. It was like a dream but you knew it wasn’t and it made everything all the better.

“Aether,” Lumine opened the door and interrupted the moment.

Quickly releasing each other in awkwardness, Lumine ran to her twin and gave him a hug. Her eyes that were red from crying earlier became even redder as she started to cry even more however, this time she wasn’t alone as now Aether started to cry as well.

Those years of being strong after missing his beloved twin were finally tumbling down. The pure bliss of seeing one other made them break down. Those years of being strong after being separated for so long made them stay crying in each other's arms as they let out their loneliness through their tears.
