CH, just like humans, evolved in company of animals. And so, just like humans, they enjoy the presence of these animals in their lives, which means some of them did have domestic pets by their sides, whether it was for utilitarian purposes or simply to have cute animal friends.

Here's some of them.

⚠️ The pictures are not mine ! They are just illustrations of what the animals may look like as to give a visual support. ⚠️

Hans

He was Germany's German Shepherd. Germany adopted him as a puppy in 1989 as to cope with loneliness and his wish to take care of someone/something. But also because he loves dogs too much to resist.
He was also like a first son to him and played the role of a childhood friend to Russany as well, being his first ever friend.
Even Russia liked him and would take care of him when he was paying visits Germany. Or as he had to keep Russany and him when Germany had important meetings and such to attend.
Because of his positive presence in the family, when Hans died, Germany and Russany were really affected by it and still miss him very much.

Prussia's wolfdog

As one of his symbol of power, Prussia adopted a wolfdog (being more wolf than dog). It was trained just like a normal dog would. It was mainly used to show off and take part in hunts.
They say dogs and their owners look alike, it's the case here : this wolfdog was just as reckless as Prussia and would have a few strange behaviors, like chewing on its own paws for fun (without harming itself, don't worry).
It ended up dying of old age.
