wake me -
take me over the edge
to that place beyond return,
past shadows looking back
on plausibility or concern;
make me never remember,
erase all of my regret
make what we do together
something i won't ever forget.
break me of my weakness
my backward habits and inverse vices
cleanse me of my strengths and misplaced righteousness;
and then, once i'm in shreds,
stitch me back together again.

Moving past our flaws and discomfort is supremely challenging, but seeking out someone we can trust to help us dismantle, rebuild, or reshape our ideals and beliefs can be even more rewarding. Having let go of some bad dogma, I can attest to the peace and dignity that comes from embracing love. I still have a long way to go, and I hope to bump into somewhere along the way.
