Chapter 25- Escalated

Everyone was already on one of Tony's private planes by the time Wanda and Valentina got down

Everyone looked right at her and her clothing choice

"Sweetheart, she's not wearing clothes" Sam said

"No time. Everyone here?" Wanda asked

"Alright Clint get this thing up in the air" She said when it was established that everyone was there

"Come with me" Natasha said guiding Valentina to the back of the aircraft and into a room

It was a small bedroom-type thing with a vanity, bed, and small bathroom

Natasha goes to a small closet near the bathroom and pulls out a pair of jeans and a shirt

"It's not perfect but it'll do" She said handing them to Valentina and nodding toward the bathroom

After she had her clothes on, she stared at herself in the mirror

She saw something in the corner of the reflection and immediately turned around, only to find nothing

She checked the cabinets and found unopened toothbrushes, which she almost praised god for

When she was all done, she went back to the room to find Natasha waiting for her

She put her hand on Valentina's back and led her out of the room

"Alright Wanda, start filling us in" Clint said after handing the wheel over to Jarvis

"I don't know what's happening. But when I used a spell to see what was going on, there was someone there with the Darkhold" Wanda explained

"It was me. Or whatever it was had my face. It looked just like me" Valentina said

"Back up. The Darkhold?" Stephen said standing up

He did his hand circles and created a portal

An Asian man walked passed it before backing up and looking through the portal 

"Strange?" The man said

"Listen no time for chit-chat Wong, I need you to be honest with me. Did you by chance misplace the Darkhold?" Stephen asked

"Do you think I'm an idiot," Wong started

He moves his arms around and appears a metal box he turns it towards us and opens it

"What are we looking at?" Tony asked

"The darkhold, it's right-" Wong starts but quickly stops as he looks into the empty box

"This right here is why the sorcerer supreme should not be picked by default" Stephen said closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose

They all started arguing and talking over each other, and that's when Valentina stopped paying attention

She looked out the window and among the clouds, she saw her own reflection

As she continued to stare out she felt hands on her neck

She jolted and turned around quickly to come face-to-face with the other version of herself

"Just give in" she hissed as she choked Valentina and lifted her by her throat

Just as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared as Wanda struck her with her magic

Valentina fell to the ground gasping for air

"Oh my god!" Natasha screamed as she ran towards Valentina

At this point, Valentina was hyperventilating and couldn't stop it

"Ok calm down. It's alright, breath. Good, just take deep breaths. Good job, you're doing good sweetheart. Just like that" Bucky said kneeling down next to her

He recognized her glazed eyes and hyperventilating as a panic attack

"You're ok" Natasha whispered more to herself than anyone else

"Good job sweetheart" Bucky said once she started to calm down

"Why is this happening?" Valentina whispered with her eyes screwed shut

"I don't know, but we'll know soon, I promise" Wanda said putting a hand on Valentina's cheek 

"We will arrive at the X Mansion in about 30 minutes" Jarvis announced

"Don't look at any reflections, and don't go to sleep" Wanda said 

Valentina nodded and leaned back against one of the seats, staying on the floor

Bucky sat down next to her and put an arm around her shoulder, letting her lean on him

The 30 minutes couldn't have gone by slower, but finally, they landed at the X Mansion

Logan helped Valentina off the floor and put an arm around her waist to lead her off the jet 

"Logan!" a voice yelled before 2 girls jumped on him 

"Jesus, can't you 2 be a little calmer" He grunted 

"Well we would be if you visited more often" a girl with white-streaked hair said 

"She's not wrong" said the other brown-haired girl

"Valentina, this is Rogue, and this is Kitty. Girls, this is my last soulmate" Logan said 

"You're so pretty" Kitty said practically jumping up and down 

"You're pretty gorgeous too" Valentina said with a small smile 

Before another word could be spoken Professor Xavier rolled over to them

"Welcome" he said 

"Girls, we have some serious matters to discuss, but you'll see logan again soon" he said causing the girls to give Logan one last hug before walking away 

"Let's take this to my office" he said before turning and making his way towards the building 

 As they walked Valentina was hearing voices in her head 

One was standing out more than the others, a women's voice 

'he says he doesn't need any more women yet he just keeps bringing more strays here. First that assassin, then that witch, and now her' the woman said with disgust 

Valentina stopped walking and looked around to see who was talking 

"What's the matter" Logan asked 

"You didn't hear that?" Valentina asked with confusion 

He looked at their other soulmates along with Professor X

'Valentina, can you hear me' Professor X asked 

"Of course I can" she responded 

"Of course you can what baby?" Bucky asked 

"She's hearing thoughts" Professor said

Valentina took a deep breath before Logan ushered her to keep walking forwards 

As she was walking she caught the eye of a redhead with bright green eyes, only to realize that she wasn't looking at her, but at logan

When she did look over at Valentina, she got an odd feeling, Valentina felt almost jealous

She tore her eyes away from the woman and kept walking along with her soulmates 

When they reached a set of double doors at the end of one of the halls, the doors opened on their own

They all filed into the large office space

"Please sit" Professor X said motioning to the sets in front of him 

"We have much to discuss" he said in a grave tone
