Chapter 18- Late Night Talk

Once we finally settled down and got comfortable Peter turned on the movie

I have to admit it was interesting

When we finished the film Peter put on the second one and then the third one

"Um Peter, how many films are there in the series" I ask when he puts on the 4th one

"3 more, well no, technically 4 since the last one is split into part 1 and 2" he says practically beaming

Sometime during the 4th film Morgan has made it to us and sat coloring not really paying attention to the film

It was 2 am and we still had 2 movies left when Petter passed out right on the sofa

In fact everyone was asleep except me Bucky, Natalia, Stephen and Tony

"Vallen?" Natalia asks quietly gaining my attention

"Hmm" I respond just as quietly

"What was it like? I mean after I left what was it like? What happened?" She asks hesitantly

"And be honest" Bucky adds on

"It was... pretty bad. Madam B couldn't believe that you betrayed them. And she always thought that you acted alone so I guess that was a plus. She praised me, thanked me even, for being loyal to Hydra. I was almost never alone after the graduation ceremony" I say taking a pause looking down at Morgan who was sleeping in my lap and holding onto me

"How did you get those marks on your back and shoulders" Bucky asks more hesitantly than Natalia did

How did he know about them, when did he see them?

"This morning Your hair was tied up and I saw a little bit of it" he says answering my question seeing my confusion

"Um, a couple weeks after graduating she took me to where I was trained, the red room. It was filled with the new generation of Black Widows. She asked me to be their trainer for the day. The thought still sickens me to this day, but I didn't defy her, I followed her instructions always, flawlessly. I was the one responsible for for all of those children's nightmares, they shot their first live target under my training, my direction" I say remembering that god awful day

"At the end she told me that the little one with the blonde ponytail was, lacking in her skills and needed to be... taken care of" I say pausing

"But I couldn't do it. For the first time in my life I refused to follow her order. And I got punished" I say clearing my throat

"Whips?" Natalia asks with wide eyes

"I always thought that that was an empty threat. I never knew they actually used those as a form of punishment" she says shocked

"Neither did I at first. But I have the receipts to prove it" I finish with a sigh

"So what happened to you after you got away" I ask not wanting the spotlight to be on me anymore

"Well after a couple of months I started training with Clint some more and I became an agent. Then I got assigned to pretend to be Tony's assistant while Pepper was the CEO of the company. Then he found out I was an agent. After that Fury came up with the Avengers initiative so I went to recruit Bruce, then we came back and Steve was there. Before we even did anything as the Avengers Loki came with Clint and surrendered since we were all soulmates, which led to Thor's arrival. Then the whole Ultron thing happened so we met Wanda and Pietro. Both of them, but mainly Wanda needed help with their abilities so we went to the X-Mansion which is an institution for the gifted, there we met Logan. After that Steve met Sam while running and we found Bucky as Winter Soldier soon after. Tony goes off to recruit this kid cause he's a human spider and we find Peter and then of course Tony also barges in in Stephen and so here we are now" Natasha says taking a breath

"Well It looks like you lot have had a wild run" I say processing everything she had just said

"Well you're apart of this lot now" Tony says smiling

"You can't possibly think that it's alright for me to stay here" I say seriously

"Why do you hate us so much, why can't you just accept us?" Stephen says sitting up slightly

"I don't hate you, any of of you. For so long all I wanted was this, this is all I ever dreamt of, Natalia was the only person I ever loved, we had planned to spend the rest of our lives together. Of course it was only ever a dream though" I start

"But then Coulson and Fury find me, and it felt as though god was looking down upon me. I was ready to leave, and to be with Natalia finally. But then things didn't go as planned and she gets ripped away from me. She's gone to live a better life and I'm stuck at Hydra, doing someone else's dirty work" I continue

"Then I realize, it was never god who was looking down on me, it was the devil. I wasn't being rewarded, I was being punished, I was given false hope and I had the freedom right in the palm of my hand and it was taken away just like that. God doesn't feel sympathy for people like me. People who are evil, sinister. God will not reward a murderer" I finish swallowing and keeping my eyes on the wall

"But your not there anymore, your not doing Hydra's dirty work, you're free now. They'll give up and stop looking just like they did with Bucky" Tony says

They know nothing about the Winter Soldier situation

"What is it?" Natalia asks

I look up at her with questioning eyes

"You know something and you aren't telling us. So what aren't you telling us?" She asks again

I close my eyes and sigh

"They never... they never gave up, looking for Bucky" I say quietly

"What do you mean?" Bucky says siting up

"They had eyes on you long after you were free from the mind control" I says reluctantly

"How?" He asks again

"Your old prosthetic, they were able to track you with it, but when you got a new one you were no longer trackable" I say

"So how come they never went after him?" Scott asked

I stay quiet not wanting to say anything

"Vallen" Bucky says urging me to continue

"They did come after you, I was sent to come after you. I was the agent sent to either bring you back, dead or alive" I say sighing
