Christmas

Rosetta spent the next couple of months acing classes and holding study groups. She focused on students who had no idea where the wanted to go in their education. Rosetta held cooking sessions that students were able to enjoy. She had managed to talk the house elves into overseeing the class.  They thought it was odd that students wanted to do elves work but they felt Rosetta was too good to say no to. The head cooking elf, Canny, was watching Rosetta cook a few American dishes. He seemed so impressed. 

"Canny, my sessions are open in variety. The students here are so limited in what they feel they can do but I want to give them options besides the Ministry and other common practices. I love cooking different foods and how those who eat it seem to enjoy it. How about in exchange for you overseeing and teaching the students a bit? I give you all a few new recipes every week for you all to try and cook?" Rosetta said as Canny tasted the country fried chicken with gravy and cornbread

Canny hummed and agreed to the deal. Rosetta smiled and they began to discuss what recipes I had. I gave them my recipe for pumpkin pie, teriyaki chicken tacos, and macaroni and cheese. Rosetta went to her DADA class. Quirrell was still a stuttering mess. Rosetta was happy to see that the Christmas holiday was coming soon and she was relieved to be going home for the holidays.  Rosetta was called to the Headmaster's office just before Leaving Day. Professor Snape, once more, escorted Rosetta to Dumbledore. He did not leave either when Dumbledore tried to dismiss him. James and Lilly Potter was in the room as well. They were looking hopeful and Lilly looked longingly at Rosetta. 

"Well Miss Sherwood, I'm sure you are excited about the upcoming holidays. I have called you here to discuss your accommodations. Your parents are willing to have you spend the holidays with them, of course. Otherwise it would be for the best if you spend Christmas here in Hogwarts." Dumbledore said as if they were her only choices 

Snape stared at them stone faced but inwardly wondered have they completely lost their senses. He glanced at Rosetta and knew he was not needed to handle the situation as of yet. 

"Headmaster Dumbledore, your role as Headmaster is solely in regards to what happens in this school. Outside of Hogwarts, you are in no way, shape, or form my guardian, whom can dictate where I go or what I do. I shall be going home for the holidays with my sister. I can promise I have no wishes to see any Potters over the course of the holiday. Now I have a bit more packing to do and such. Have a wonderful day." Rosetta said before standing 

"Wait! I have not dismissed you. Miss Potter-" Dumbledore started 

"My name is Rosetta Sherwood. It is the name I use everyday and the name everyone with common sense knows to call me by. I do not accept being called Potter and from now on will not answer to it. You are insulting my father by forcing me to answer to anything else." Rosetta interrupted

Dumbledore lost all twinkle in his eyes before starting again.

"Miss Sherwood, you must learn to be more forgiving. This hatred will turn you dark if not watched. The Potters are trying to bring you back to where you belong. You could perhaps visit the Sherwood's in the summer. Christmas is the time for family and you wouldn't want to be a burden on the Sherwood's." Dumbledore said casting silent and wandless compulsion charms

"My father will not wish for me to stay here and does not feel that the Potters will provide me any healthy influences. I must decline your offer and ask that you never offer such again." Rosetta said before leaving before Dumbledore could say anything 

The moment that Rosetta and Professor Snape were down the stairs, Professor Snape cast removal charms on Rosetta. 

"Thank you, Professor." Rosetta said 

"You are welcome, Miss Sherwood. The headmaster seems to be going senile in his old age." Professor Snape said before leading them back to the dungeons

Rosetta finished packing and enjoyed the afternoon with her friends before dinner. The following day everyone was on the train making their way back home. Rosetta locked their compartment door to keep Potter and his group out. Rosetta enjoyed the ride as everyone discussed their holiday plans. Everyone agreed that the next time they all meet will be at the Malfoy Yule Ball.

Rosetta reunited with Mr. Sherwood before going home. They prepared for the Christmas Gala held in Copper, Colorado. It was held on the December 15th-18th so that would give Rosetta and Anastasia more than enough time to make it to the Malfoys on Boxing Day. Rosetta loved Christmas holiday. She went skiing, talked business, and treasured her presents from all over the world. Mr. Sherwood had many connections and it was tradition to send out gifts to not only him but also his heir. Rosetta received stock in many different businesses, language books and customs from all over the world, books on technology, books on business yes and no's, and etc. Her magical friends brought her advanced books in herbology, runes, arithmancy, and potions as well as candy. She received a gift from the Potters which she had made arrangements to be sent back to them unopened. Mr. Sherwood had gotten her a small island and a budget of $2,000,000. Rosetta stared wide eyed and realized what this meant. 

"You have progressed far better than I could have ever hoped. I've decided to test you early. You will have 2 years to return my budget to me. I will not give you so much as another for this nor can I help you. If you pass this test then I shall head to Gringotts and officially name you heir as well as begin bringing you to the Company as my heir." Mr. Sherwood said 

Rosetta stared in shock as Anastasia hugged her and whispered congratulations. Rosetta immediately looked into the island. It looked like it was mostly forest but she could see making a small town as well as a resort. The water could be very pretty. Mr. Sherwood never said she couldn't use magic to smooth everything over. There was a lodging/ lumber company nearby that would buy the wood. There were a couple abandoned mines on the island. Rosetta would talk to Ripfang in the New Year. Anastasia got her a book on spell crafting. Rosetta loved it. She always wanted to create her own spells. Christmas vacation was ending quickly and soon enough she would be back at Hogwarts. She had so much to look forward to now for the summer. Though Rosetta was starting to get a bad feeling about Dumbledore.
