The moment they pulled apart, at the start of a New Year, the two looked at each other and smiled.
Yeji was the first to speak, voice barely audible but due to how close they were Ryujin heard her just fine.
"I'm tired of being your friend. I want to be your girlfriend."
Ryujin smiled widely, whisker dimples showing on her cheeks. "Okay."
The other smiled back, resting her head on the crook of her neck while they held each other.
"Good."
With a chuckle, Ryujin held her even tighter, thinking back at how it all started.
"Great."
