Val's POV
I cry and cry as I think of what day it is today. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It's my dead best friend's birthday.
We always celebrated our birthdays together but since 2 years ago that all changed, the day she died.
Her death was brutal and painful and when I get my hands on those fucking bastards they will wish that they weren't born. I remember the day that we met, it felt like it was yesterday
*Flashback to when she was 9 years old*
It has been 3 months since I have escaped and I couldn't have been happier. I have been talking to Storm and she has helped me a lot.
I decided to walk to a nearby park since I couldn't go back to school until next year. The lab scientists managed to convince the school that I am going back home and won't be able to come back until I turn 10. Confusing, I know.
As I sat down and watched the children play, a girl approached me and sat down.
"Hi, my name is Emily. What's yours?" She asked with her innocent blue eyes. Her blond hair was in two pigtails with strands framing her chubby face. Her blue eyes sparkled with innocence and happiness, a feeling that I was familiar with 3 years ago
"My name's Valentinus" I told her
"I'm gonna call you Emerald" she replied with a smile
"Why?" I asked curiously
"Because of your eyes silly" she said with a giggle and for the first time in years, I smiled
"And I'm gonna call you Blue" and with that we talked and talked for hours until she had to go back home
*Flashback over*
And ever since then we were inseparable. We were so close that when it was time for me to go back, she followed me. I ended up telling her the truth and she still stayed with me but that was my mistake because then she died because of me.
If I hadn't introduce her to the underworld she would still be here, if I hadn't befriended her she would still be somewhere in the world making friends and becoming popular.
I quickly took a shower and got dressed and went downstairs. I grabbed Tino and went out the door and got into the car. We got McDonalds on our way and we arrived at school in record time.
We went to an empty classroom and I poured my heart out to Tino while he comforted me. When the bell rang we went to class. When I opened the door everyone looked at me, probably my face that is currently red and had dried tear stains and my eyes are red and puffy
I looked high
I went straight to my seat and listened to the teacher rather than paying attention to the stares and whispers.
*Time skip*
I was now sitting on my bed and thinking. Everyone was gone and I was all alone in this huge mansion. I got up and went out of my room and went to the music room.
When I arrived I saw a grand piano and quickly went to sit on it. I touched the keys, feeling them under my fingers. I breathed in and out and started playing the song that Emily and I used to sing when we were dumped by our boyfriends.
