It's been a about 2 weeks now since texas filled out those papers and tomarrow was the first day of July. Tex couldn't help but to sigh as he thought about all that really happened in June, saying as everything was now very calm. He was currently wearing strap pants (he thought that's what they were called) and a hoodie, saying as he was more comfortable right now and just relaxing while filling out actual work papers. Texas has been thinking.. less about what happened that night, or at least he tried to act like he thought less about it at the very least. He wasn't very keen on just talking about it a ton, but at the same time he couldn't just shove the shit out of his head.
while it annoyed him he knew it would take awhile for him. At the very least he accepted that and was getting better with dealing with his emotion mess. As he was finishing up the work he felt tired, he couldn't sleep until it was done tho. Gov wanted them to take things slowly, but Tex just couldn't leave the work until done. He only had about 7 pages left, so it wasn't to bad truthfully, but he was surprised to see the gator boys running through, both cali and new york almost truly on their scaly tails. It took texas a second to fully grasp what they were doing.. that is before he gave up on trying to figure it out. He had gone back to his work before Tennessee ran over, pulling the couch texas was on out only to hide behind it.
Texas blinked, looking forward from his papers when he next saw gov and Oklahoma walking around like they were trying to find something. Texas tried to just look back down at his work now, really just wanting to ignore all of this before kentucky, Indiana and Illinois all ran up to him, "ay texas.. have you seen.. Tennessee, Missouri, or Alaska?" They were out of breath as they questioned this, texas just slowly shaking his head.
Texas looked towards the stairs, "I think Tennessee and 'Laska both went up the stairs, Missouri went down the south hall wit' cali." Texas just flat out lied as he saw the other states run off. Missouri and Alaska peaked around the corner and texas rolled his eyes, pointing behind the couch, "Move   fast   Now." Alaska and Missouri both smiled as they got their hiding places, meanwhile texas looked at his phone to see each of them were supposed to be hiding from someone and he was supposed to hide from... Oklahoma? Damn. Dude walked right past him. Texas sighed, remembering Oklahoma and DC had gone toward the garage so he just went upstairs, messaging cali for permission to just go hide in his room, which he was given the OK on. He sat in the corner near where the changing divider was in the east state's room.he was lucky to get to hide up there saying as southern states didn't really... respect privacy, to say the least. He sat there for awhile calmly finishing his work until he actually got done. He was still tired but no one wanted to get caught on hide night, at least not until the first segment.
Segment one it's just half hide, second segment is a mix of hiding and seek, than the 3rd is when the initial seekers hide to be seeked for. Truthfully the second segment was basically tag except it usually it involved throwing little sand bags, which, texas didn't have tonight, so, they'd just be running from Oklahoma, that is, if he found them. And at this rate he wasn't expecting- his phone died. Tex tried to turn it on but was without luck... crap. He had to listen for the office room chimes from all the way up here? Seriously? Cruel.
Texas stood up and cracked his back, just stretching before going back to cali's door, standing there in hopes he'd have a better chance of hearing the dinging. He looked over cali's room calmly, seeing nothing much was really out of place. He saw a pipe on cali's bed but he didn't think to much of it, it was legal in cali's state anyhow.
As texas just sorta stood there he felt just a bit awkward. Texas thought he heard a chime and he started opening the door but he breathed with a quick movement and when the door was half way open he got stunned.. was it his binder? He hasn't left it off for awhile but surely that wasn't it, he could still breath and he could readjust it easily.. weird. He stepped out of cali's room, looking both ways before he went carefully down the stairs, looking back and forth once he got down. Immediately he went to the couch when he didn't see Oklahoma, and he saw the 3 who'd been hiding there before were gone. That meant it was segment two. Texas smirked slowly, hiding at the side near the hall, watching a few states go in the kitchen. He waited, he saw cali and new york leave the kitchen.. Alaska went in the kitchen, both him and tennessee being subtle, meanwhile DC and Oklahoma started to go in the kitchen and, perfect.
As soon as Oklahoma was in the kitchen, texas fastly pushed the couch to block those in into the kitchen to get them stuck before he booked it to the hall. He saw cali and new york fallow him, tho he wasn't to worried, "either of you gotta extra bag of sand?" He could here Oklahoma cursing all the way from the kitchen, fallowed by Tennessee and Alaska both laughing at him.
New York got up next to Tex and passed him two bags, "I got a few extra uh jerseys and pa's, figured they didn't need em to bad if they're after me or whoevers else."
Texas laughed a bit, taking them with a grin, "I owe ya." Texas opened his door and pointed in, " pull out the punching bag on the bar and there's some closet space."
New York ran in while cali smiled, "I say you owe none with this spot, thanks tex," with that texas shut the door than got to the end of the hall where Oklahoma's room was, once he was in there he just slid behind Oklahoma's cabinet, knowing he could wait until telaported this round. To make it fair the last round all seekers would turn up in the table/meeting room.
Texas was breathing heavily until he heard the door swing open, immediately he went silent, tho he had a bag of sand in his hand and was ready to throw...  "Oh Texas!" Oklahoma always sang out his name during games like this, making the southern state have to be as quiet as possible. Texas glanced out at oklahoma's shadow, slowly smirking as his left hand cupped his bag of sand.
"Yes, okiehomo?" He had to try not and laugh at the scoff they heard the other make. Slowly he crouched, able to hear oklahoma's footsteps, they were headed to the other edge of the cabinet.
In a swift movement texas lunged, throwing both sand bags to which one hit Oklahoma in the side and another in the throat- texas was his right after Oklahoma in the chest, but that didn't stop texas from taking the victory, "JUST LIKE ALWAYS, LONGHORNS-" they were both telaported to the meeting room, Texas standing as he pointed at Oklahoma who was seated across from the winning area, "ALWAYS BEAT THE SOONERS!... oh God why did they just instant summon us," texas was dizzy now, getting Oklahoma to roll his eyes. "Oh don't be sore, you'll beat me... sooner or later," the teasing grin that hit texas face was so quick.
Oklahoma stood, and glared at texas, "now that we're out, what do you say for just a good ol' race?" Oklahoma challenged, to which texas caught his breath. His chest still felt tight, but there was no chance he was gonna let down a challenge.
"Fine, we can start at the couch and make a round perimeterin' the house." Oklahoma gave a nod, both of them walking out the meeting room quickly. Texas thought about it then paused, "i.. shit I left my work papers in cali's room, meet you outside," he started toward the stairs yet saw Oklahoma raise a brow, "I hid in there 1st round." With that he quickly ran up the stairs, going to grab his clip board. He opened cali's door, grabbing the clip board off the desk before turning on his heal.
When Tex started down the stairs again his chest hitched.. this time it was burning a little tho. He walked slower and kept his breathing calm, tossing the board over to the couch before going out the front door, seeing Oklahoma waiting on the porch.
"On your mark, take a step...., Float!" With that they both took off running, both managing to keep at a similar pace. The two were both fast, tho unlike usual, Oklahoma got a large gap ahead of the larger state who, tho able to keep up, was clearly lagging behind just a bit. Oklahoma would usually just take the win when he could, but nearing the end he skidded to slow a bit, matching pace with texas, "You alright, Longhorn?" Oklahoma questioned while running still, just slower than usual.
Texas had to wait a second before they finished the first round of the house, "I'm fine.. let's jus' go again. I've been watched like a hawk recently by gov so I haven't gotten to actually go out and do much."
Oklahoma looked at texas for a minute before giving a nod. Something told him texas needed to get it out, so, they went back in stance before running again. Texas managed to keep up this time, and Oklahoma almost regretted taking the initial pitty, and when they did get back around to the front for the second time, they just didn't stop. They went on for two more rounds before loud dinging chimed, to which texas slowed at the front again. While Oklahoma stopped next to him, atex leaned over the fence, pulling his binder out from their chest, tho Oklahoma just saw texas pulling at the hoodie. "You sure you're alright texas?" Oklahoma was next to texas now, while he was slightly out of breath from all the running, Texas looked dead.
Texas put his head back up, looking at Oklahoma before slowly giving a smile, "I'm fine,  just tired.. I didn't realize it was hide night till after it started and I'd been already tired," he laughed softly, pushing himself back up to walk back up onto the porch than to go inside.
Oklahoma and texas went in at the same time, texas going back over to the couch while grabbing his work book, only to than head for gov's office to set down the paper work in the propper turn in space before he went ahead and started toward his room, when he got there he glanced around. He smiled softly and sighed, "knock knock, it's your favorite star spangled idiot.." He yawned before walking over to where the punching bag was and he leaned on it, seeing that cali and new tork were still in there. To be fair it was a relatively hidden and roomy area.
"Hey Tex, thanks for the hiding spot." New York walked forward and grabbed the punching bag from texas who literally looked beat, "are you good?" He looked at texas who leaned back to pop their back.
"I'm fine, after catching Oklahoma we ran for awhile.." He was clearly tired as he tossed his hay over on his bed while cali got out of the closet space.
Cali gave a hum, lookingbover texas, "do you mean you two were like, fighting or...?" To be honest it was a fair question.
"No we actually ran laps round the house for awhile... southern stuff." That made cali laugh a bit as texas yawned again.
New york looked over texas and couldn't help but to chuckle himself, "hey texas, think I could barrows ya hat?" He saw texas shrug as he just tossed it back from his bed at new york.
"Just give it back later.." texas chest and head started feeling hot again, adding dizziness to how tired he was.
Cali took texas hat from New York, shaking his head before setting it on the edge of texas bed, "night tex!" As cali pulled new york out, texas just muttered something at the two, which only made the north and east states laugh a bit, "Note to self, we can get his hat when he's tired." They laughed again once more as they left.
