Sonic was in disbelief.
Death by the sun? he thought to himself, That's one way to go out with a bang...
That was when Knuckles punched the ground.
"We've made it so far," he said, "We were so close!"
"This is truly world shattering..." said Espio.
"Grrr!" growled Vector, "Isn't there anything we can do?"
That's when their communicators activated.
"Everyone! Aurora's on a suicide mission! She's going to use her Phantom Ruby prototype to stop the sun!"
"She'll be burnt to crisp before then!" exclaimed Knuckles, "Give it up, rookie! Fall back!"
That's when Sonic ran over to find Tails.
"Tails! How's the chance she'll succeed?" asked Sonic.
"The chances of success are miniscule!" Tails explained, "It's a desperate long shot!"
"Can't we just stop her?"
"If we do that, then we'll have no other way to stop the sun!"
"Dammit!" Sonic swore, "Why did things have to be like this...?"

Aurora was hopping from wall to wall, going as fast as she can to get to the top.
She found herself thinking about the resistance and all the friends she made there.
Amy, Shadow, Tails, Knuckles...
The list went on, remembering her teammates and colleagues.
But the name that popped up most was Sonic.
She thought of all the memories they've shared.
She was thankful she got to meet him, for he was an even better hero than she thought he was.
Suddenly, she heard a humming noise from behind her, it was Eggman's EggCarrier.
"Mwahaha! You think you can stop the sun?" he said in a sinister tone. "You'll burn up like a moth drawn to a flame! It's over..."
He then got behind her, firing a beam of pure energy from below him.
Aurora ran as fast as she could, only for it to catch up with her.
It began to close in on her, when she saw a bouncepad up ahead.
Soon, as the beam barely touched her tail, she got on the bouncepad and flew to safety.

"Make peace with your fate," Infinite said, "because your lives are now over!"
Aurora held her Phantom Ruby tightly.
This was it.
"Mwahahahaha!" Eggman laughed as he counted down from 3 to 1.
"Three..."
Aurora began running.
"Two..."
She aimed her grappling hook on a nearby ship.
"One..."
She took in a deep breath.
"ZERO!!!"
Aurora felt herself jolt forward as she reclined her grappling hook.
Her memories flashed before her eyes as she flew.
Memories of Gadget, Sonic, and all others...
She felt herself grow weak as she got closer.
Finally, with the last of her energy, she threw the prototype ruby at the sun, and her whole world grew dark...

Everyone watched in suspense as the sun grew brighter.
Where was Aurora? Is she okay?
Tails flew up a little to try and get a closer look.
"Buddy?"
Then, as if their prayers had been answered, the sun disappeared.
"The sun! It's gone!" exclaimed Knuckles, as everyone else cheered.
"W-What!?" Eggman exclaimed, "What just happened!?"
That was when Tails noticed something falling from the sky.
"AURORA!!!"
He flew as fast as he could to catch her.
He caught her just in time, but her body was limp and her breathing was at a fast pace.
This can't be a good sign...
He carried her back to the top of the tower, where he laid her down to check her pulse, only to find out was barely there...
He took out his communicator and spoke into it.
"Guys, don't I think Aurora made it..."
