..........to keep from trusting ourselves............
...from accessing an instinct the ancestors....
bequeathed us.................................................
mouths speak out both sides.........................
.........in this tug of war to erase all trace........
..crushing a capacity to think for ourselves...
.............choice forever poised between evils.
..solutions to problems come decades late...
.............the Gordian knot tightens..................
......as politicians line up at the trough...........
....................dispensing more of what kills.....
we snuff out last hopes.......our resistance.....
...polarized between us and them....proves...
.....futile.......fruitless......vain.......pointless.....
........the correct word becomes the title.........
choose....................................................wisely
...or...try...to...get...a...word...in...edgewise...
