We're maimed
Forever wounded
Invisibly
Damage inflicted
A trenchant blade
Cleaves us and them
True grotesquery
Tension of opposites broken
We spin... Hopelessly dizzy
The great oscillation
Remedy for the nations
No longer keeps us free
We want feel-good
And don't-mind-me
Scattered we fall
Unfertilized seeds
Imperceptibly
Enslavement complete
Silver thread in perpetuity lost
Prodded by the point of it all
We turn and turn and turn
Our backs to one another
Embrace the cost
Pretend instead
