Us rubbing
To look askance
Everyday surfaces
Wings exalt
Hollow bones
Embossed negative
Smudged perception
Unnoticed remnants
Hidden in plain sight
Tangible effacements
Textural erasement
Meaning once evident
Now arcane fragments
We guess at impressions
Return to vigorous rubbing
We saw the end coming
What were we thinking?
