AFTER THREE WHOLE DAYS OF MISSING classes, Jude Duarte and Allura Evetine were ready to return to school. That morning, the faerie had awoken to a bowl of fresh fruits for breakfast, a gleeful song from the birds and a kiss on the cheek from her mother. There was something hopeful in the skies today and Allura felt it in her very bones. After all, she had something she hadn't had in a long time. A friend. Or rather, a best friend. Someone outside of her list of admirers to unravel her thoughts and dreams to. Or, better yet, her secrets and feelings.

After all, she shared them too.

Jude Duarte was feeling uncharacteristically optimistic that morning. She had awoken to buttered toast for breakfast, a hurried reminder to dress herself from her twin and a pat on the back from her father's murderer ━━━━━━ Madoc. Gearing up, the girl had clothed herself in a plain brown dress and matching boots. Her dark hair had been braided back into a bun and her skin was tanned and flawless. Beneath her clothes, she wears a newly sewn necklace of protective rowan berries in order to keep up the appearance that Jude is vulnerable to enchantment. Inside her pocket, she grips her cold iron knife.
