2 hours. It's been 2 hours before the OR doctor comes to the waiting room and tells him that you're going to be ok. Relief floods his system and he has to sit down. He can't help the tears that spring from his eyes.
"Thank you, thank you so much," he says.
The doctor smiles at him, "I'm just doing my job, Mr. Wood."
Otto nods before wiping his face and standing up, "can I see her?"
The doctor nods, "of course. I'll have a nurse show you the way."
Later...
He squeezes your hand, a smile breaking out on his face before he shakes his head.
"What are you so smiley about?" You ask.
"I'm just...I'm just glad you're ok."
"If you count sentenced to a month of being a couch potato as ok, then yeah I'm fine."
He laughs for what feels like the first time in forever, "only you would see a month without work as a death sentence."
