A month has passed since I stepped foot into Bullworth Academy. Those rumors haven't died down for shit, if anything in a way, they're getting worse. Surprisingly, Pete still talks to me and invited me to hang out with him this Halloween night.

I did some last-minute shopping for my Halloween costume at the town thrift store earlier today. If you look hard enough, sometimes you can find good stuff at the thrift. Anyways, my costume was a hobo. I wore a stained, white t-shirt, baggy jeans that were way too big for my waist, some boxers that were showing because of my sagging pants, and an olive green beanie. I also found an Aquaberry sweater. I figured it might be useful to have in the future, so I took it. It was only 5 bucks. I put grey eyeshadow all over my face to resemble dirt. I did some light makeup—only a little eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. I was ready to go. Man, was I excited. This was the first time I would actually celebrate Halloween since elementary school.

"Pete told me to meet him by the fountain. Guess that's where I'll go." I whispered to myself.

I walked down to the fountain and saw 3 boys already there.

"C'mon man, I wanna get this prank done!" Gary shouted.

"Sorry! Uh--let's just wait another few minutes!" Pete said.

Crap, they're probably waiting for me.

"Uhh, hey guys!" I waved.

They all slowly turned their heads in my direction.

Gary began laughing like a freaking maniac. Pete and Jimmy just looked at him.

"What's so funny?" I said, annoyed.

"Nice costume..." "...who picked it out for you, that homeless guy Mr. Grant?"

"Thanks... I guess." I raised my eyebrow. "Who are you supposed to be, a cop?"

"I guess you could say that." The most devious smirk had formed on his face.

I rolled my eyes. I could read between the lines. It's not cool what he dressed up as. My attention was finally on Jimmy and Pete. Pete was a pink bunny and Jimmy was a skeleton.

"Petey you look adorable. Your costume is sooo cute!"

Pete blushed and Gary began to laugh again.

"He's the cutest little femme-boy, isn't he?" Gary said.

My eyebrows furrowed as I replied, "Yeah, well, at least his costume isn't offensive."

"You're feisty today."

I was so done with him. I was gonna give it back to him.

I made a fart noise with my mouth. "Stop farting, Gary! Ewwwww it stank!!!"

Jimmy and Pete were laughing hysterically.

"Yeah, that's real funny, you first grader."

I smiled at Gary obnoxiously, my eyes partially squinting. I then checked Jimmy out. I think he noticed because a bashful smile formed on his face.

"Jimmy, you're pretty cute too." I said, looking him up and down.

Jimmy and I locked eyes. I couldn't help but smile. He looked hot today. I just had to let him know.

"Thanks, but--uh, my costume isn't meant to be cute, it's meant to be scary." Jimmy responded as he sheepishly scratched his head.

"Yeah? Well, I picked out the costumes. It was ME." Gary interrupted, as he shoved Pete out of his way and inched closer to me.

"Woahhh. Back up, dude." I sniffed the air between us. "You need a mint, bro."

His breath didn't even smell bad. It smelled kind of good, actually. I think he was chewing gum or something. But, it was funny to mess with him.
