The Citadel,

February 7th, 2966

"You did what?" Sadion glared at Fedorian, or at least his hologram.

"I pulled back the fleet. I am not losing a dreadnought group to hold that radioactive piece of rubble, nor am I willing to sacrifice tens of thousands of Turian lives meaninglessly." The Primarch growled.

"If the Humans hold onto Tuchanka, the Krogan will be unleashed on the galaxy!" Sadion argued, with the other two councillors wincing.

"No I don't think so. Have you read the data package that the Commonwealth gave us on the United Nation Solar Alliance?" the Primarch responded.

"Of course I did? What about it?" the Salarian asked.

"The United Nations started out as a peacekeeping body in charge of humanitarian operations. They despise genocide on all types. While I still don't trust them, there is nothing we can do but trust them." the Turian continued.

Sadion snorted. "I expect those Humans and the Krogan to start killing each other."

Tuchanka, same time.

Blood dripped off from the shining crystalline sword in the hands of a vicious warrior as it was pulled out of a dead body. Blood stained the soil of Tuchanka, taking another life from the war-torn planet. One that could have meant the end of the Human/Krogan relat-

Victor shook his head. Seriously, it was literally a wild Varren that tried to maul him and he was too lazy to pull out his pistol. And then he looked at another pile of unconscious Krogan belonging to Wreav. Was he getting too old?

No wait, Victor was old. One of the oldest beings in the Commonwealth and the oldest when not counting anyone from the Guardian Alliance. Maybe he should retire. No, wait, why did he come out of retirement early? He and Limburn were bored, that's why.

What was he supposed to do now? Victor drops an unconscious Krogan, one who had been strangling with his right arm and looks at a bunch of terrified or awed Krogan in the hollows.

Ah right, he was dealing with Wreav's mooks. That's what he was doing

"Ok," Victor said as he sheathed his sword. "Anyone else stupid enough to challenge me to a fight?"

Several of the younger Krogan back away in fear while one of the older Krogan laughs. "I like this Human! He understands us!"

Wrex smiled. "Welcome to the hollows Field Marshal Ross. You the first non-Krogan to come down here for diplomatic purposes. Sorry, we couldn't clean up, nuclear war after effects. Dumb decisions."

"It's fine Wrex. You're not the only species who made something pretty idiotic choices." Victor said, looking at one of the unconscious bodies.

"Oh?" Wrex raised an eyebrow.

"940 years ago, we killed 30 million of our own people over 150 younglings being kidnapped from their homes. A few nukes did go flying. And then we tried it again 500 years later when we got FTL. Nuked two planets into partial radioactive hellholes before another species shattered one of my planets and killed 4 billion of my people. Started a way that rendered a dozen planets into smoking craters and 3 billion more dead. In less than 5-fucking-Years." Victor emphasized that last part. "And don't get me started on the several tens of billions of other species that Anthurians exterminated."

It was at that moment several Krogan balked or paled at the number. Sure they had lost trillions to the genophage to lose so many but to lose that many in a war in five years? What are unheard in Citadel space.
