Chapter 5

Jaxxon was the only one who was there for me and the one who taking care of me. Aquisha could not come at my place because she was grounded, although she's calling me every hour. Jaxxon told her that I am sick and Aki was really distressed about my situation but still thankful at the same time because Jaxxon was there for me.

I don't know why Aki was grounded, I did not ask her about it because I'm pretty sure that she'll tell me once it wasn't that personal. It's not that I don't care, I am just respecting her, waiting for her to tell me everything on her own. Mayroon din naman akong sikreto, eh, at nirerespeto niya iyon, I should do the same because I know that it was one of the best thing to do.

"I'm fine, Aki," I told her when she called, this was the third time she asked me about my situation through call. "Hindi na 'ko nilalagnat, hindi na rin sinisipon, at hindi na rin inuubo."

"Oo nga, 'no? Sino ba ang hindi gagaling, eh 'yong kinakabaliwan ka ang nag-alaga sa 'yo? Plus, it's Doctor Jaxxon Reyes," she reminded. "Buti nga't dalawang araw lang ang lagnat mo, Zani," she paused after that. "Mabuti rin, makakapag-shooting ka na next week since wala nang umuungkat sa issue."

"It gone like how it spread fastly," I commented. "Ang bilis naman yatang maglaho ng issue ngayon, ah, pang-ilang araw lang?" pansin ko.

"Oh I forgot to tell you, may inutusan kasi si Sir Bruce na mga tauhan niya kaya hayun.."

Nanlamig ako ngunit kaagad akong humugot ng lakas ng loob para hindi ko mabitiwan ang cellphone ko. Bruce again? Gusto kong magalit at sumigaw sa kaniya pero hindi ko magawa. I don't need his help, I'm not asking for it.

There's really something wrong with me that I could not even figure out. Maybe, I am so weak, so very weak. I am not pitying myself when it comes to Bruce, I hate myself for being frail every time he's around.

"Where's Jaxxon anyway?"

Good thing that Aki butted in between my thoughts. Huminga muna ako nang malalim. Jaxxon left early for his work. Tutal okay na ako ngayon ay pumasok na siya sa kaniyang trabaho. Halos dalawang araw kasi siyang lumiban para lamang mabantayan niya ako at maalagaan. I was thankful for him of course. Kung hindi lang dahil sa kaniya ay baka lumipas na ang isang linggo, nilalagnat pa rin ako.

"He left for work," I briefly responded. "He's on his duty."

"Hindi na 'ko grounded ngayon, puwede nang lumabas. Gusto mo bang puntahan kita, Zan?" Aki asked on the other line. "Wala rin naman akong gagawin ngayong araw, eh."

"No need, Aki," I refused. "You don't have to come here, I am completely fine. At isa pa, sanay na 'ko na mag-isa ako rito kaya huwag kang mag-alala.. kaya ko na ang sarili ko, 'no."

"Sigurado ka bang walang masakit sa 'yo?" she asked with a hint of concern.

I chuckled. "Wala nga, Aki, okay na ako at---"

The doorbell from the outside cut me off. I did not end the call. Instead I brought my phone with me when I went out from the house to open the gate for someone outside. It wasn't Jaxxon obviously, he's on his duty and he has my spare keys, he don't need to doorbell or knock on the door. Binigyan ko siya ng susi noong lumipat siya rito para hindi na siya umakyat sa gate at sa mga bintana.

I'm on my sleepwear when I headed outside the house, ngunit hindi pa 'ko nakalapit sa gate ay may naaninag na akong isang pamilyar na pigura. My knees suddenly weakened when I saw who's the man outside. Kahit ganoon pa man ay naglakas-loob pa rin akong nagpatuloy para tunguhin ang gate.
