Chapter 6

I did what I promised to the two children, I bought them something to eat.

I handed them the foods I just bought and told them to give their parents some. They thanked me and Jaxxon, of course. Matapos niyon, naisipan namin ni Jaxx na tumungo na sa kina Ellai.

"Ikaw, Jaxx? Hindi ka ba mahilig sa bata?" I questioned him while walking. "I mean.. you don't like kids?"

"Hindi naman sa ganoon," maiksi niyang sagot. "Wala lang, hindi lang ako ganoon kagaling makisama sa mga bata o sa kung sino man."

"Weh? Ang bilis n'yo ngang ma-close ni Aki, eh." That just popped in my mind. "Sana all, close na, 'no?"

He chuckled. "Bakit, Zan? Nagseselos ka na ba?"

"What?" My eyes widened. "Of course, not! Why would I?" I scoffed. "That won't happen, Jaxx, in your dreams." I even rolled my eyes to him.

"Okay, sabi mo, ha!" He snapped laughingly.

Ang guwardiya nina Ellai ang bumukas ng gate at nagpapasok sa amin ni Jaxx nang makarating na kami sa lugar. I even took off my aviator so he could recognize me well. Nagdadalawang-isip pa nga ang guwardiya kung papasukin niya si Jaxxon o hindi, eh, kaya sinabi ko na lang na magkasama kami ni Jaxx. After we get inside the house, one of the maids accompanied us to the longue. She gestured to us to sit down first and wait for my brother and my best friend, Nephele Rai.

"Ang laki naman ng bahay nila," puna ni Jaxxon matapos sinuyod ng tingin ang paligid. "Ang suwerte siguro ng kaibigan mo, Zan. Lumaki na siya sa buong pamilya, maganda pa ang buhay niya."

"No one is lucky in this world, Jaxx, trust me," I told him. "Kahit na akala mo ay ganoon na kaperpekto ang isang tao, may iisang mali pa rin. Walang masuwerte at walang malas sa mundong ito, Jaxx," pangangaral ko sa kaniya.

He was about to talk back when we heard some footsteps from the stairs, it caught our attentions. Sabay kaming bumaling ni Jaxx doon at ngumisi naman ako nang matanaw sina Kuya CJ at Ellai na pababa sa hagdan. Ellai waved at me when she saw me while my brother's smirking then possessively placed his arm on my best friend's shoulder. Nananadya yata si kuya, eh! Pinapainggit ako!

"Napabisita ka, Zani!" si Ellai na naunang lumapit.

Yumuko siya para magkapantay kami at nakipagbeso-beso siya sa akin bago ibinaling ang tingin kay Jaxxon sa aking tabi. There's no any reaction registered on her face, she just smiled at Jaxxon before motioning to her husband to come near us. Kuya CJ immediately followed her. He tapped my shoulder before giving me a soft kiss on the top of my head.

"Mabuti dahil napadalaw ka rito," he said before drifting his eyes to Jaxxon's direction. "Jaxxon Reyes?"

Gulantang na nanlalaki ang aking mga mata nang binanggit ni kuya ang pangalan ni Jaxx. Tumango lamang ito sa kaniya pero ako naman ay gulat pa rin. I wonder how did my brother know Jaxxon... Oh, just common sense, I think? Dahil siguro sa issue, hindi ba? O 'di kaya'y dahil nalaman niyang isa sa mga tagahanga ko si Jaxxon kaya niya nakilala ang lalaki? Right? That was the reason!

"Are you and my sister are.. a thing?" Kuya CJ did not hesitate to ask that to Jaxxon. "I was curious what are you two. If you don't mind, you can answer my question. Ayos lang din kung ayaw mong sagutin, hindi naman ako namimilit." Pasimpleng kumibit-balikat pa siya.

"Kuya, Jaxxon and I are not a thing, okay?" I butted in. Let's stick to the right answer, alright? "W-We're just.."

"Just?" My brother cocked a brow. "Just what, Aliz?"
