The Joker Goes to School/He Meets his Match, the Grisly Ghoul

Chapter 16

In the abandoned garage, the phone rang and Nick answered it.

"Hello? Yeah, just a sec, he's right here" he said.

He handed the phone to the Joker and said "Joker, it's for you. It's Las Vegas. Pete the Swede" 

The Joker picked up the phone and said "Hello, Pete the Swede. What's the line on the big game tonight?" 

Pete the Swede answered.

"The odds are twenty to one? On Woodrow Roosevelt high?" said the Joker.

"What a killing" Nick whispered.

"Uh, take whimsical wager. Fifty thousand dollars on Disko Tech. Yes, Pete the Swede, you heard me. Disko Tech" said the Joker.

Then he hung up the phone and did the math.

"Fifty times twenty... one million bucks. Oh, how delicious!" the Joker cackled.

What? Bet against these champs? 

The clown prince of crime must have slipped a cog. 

But wait!

Susie and her fellow cheerleaders were dancing with their pompoms and reciting a cheer.

Disko Tech, hey!

Disko Tech, hey!

Fight 'em, Woodrow Roosevelt!

Beat 'em, Woodrow Roosevelt!

Fight, fight, fight! 

"Okay, kids, let's take a break, huh?" said Susie.

"Gee. Too bad that magic milk machine is out of order" said the blonde cheerleader.

Susie picked up her new perfume and took the out of order sign off the milk machine. 

Then she made her way towards the girls locker room when the crimefighting gang found her.

"Susie, stop! Give yourself up!" said Batman.

"Your life is in danger, Susie" said Robin.

"The Joker knows we're onto you" said Sam.

"He'll discard you without mercy" said Calvin.

"He'll toss you around like an old shoe" said Charles Wallace.

"Have you guys stripped your gears?" said Susie walking away. 

"After her, Warriors!" said Calvin. 

Batman and Robin watched the Three Warriors run after Susie.

She applied her perfume and said "So long, Three Warriors. And Dynamic Duo".

Then she sniffed the perfume and collapsed into the kids' arms.

"What's happening?" said Sam.

"It's the perfume, I know it!" said Calvin.

"Poisoned" said Batman.
