I sip the strawberry flavoured drink softly, the small straw fitting between my fingers as I enjoy the warm sun on my skin. I hum along to the song that was playing quietly through my headphones, with the small pounding at the front of my head I didn't have time for the small squeals of children and shouts of people around the pool. I put the icy drink down on the small table beside me as a small breeze washes over my body.

The splashes of cool water hitting my skin making me shiver slightly. I lift my sunglasses up from my eyes, pulling out the white earphones from my ears to look down the sun bed to the pool. Alex is neck deep in water, a boyish grin on his lips as he combs his fingers through the long hair on the top of his head. "Come on!" He laughs at my grumpiness, my lips are slightly pouted with my eyes narrowed. "Charlie..." His voice is teasing as droplets of water continue to land on my skin whilst I simply glare at him quietly in reply. Jet lagged lady here.

Alex continues to splash me his small chuckles making me roll my eyes. I guess I was starting to get a little too hot...

I tie my hair up on top of my head making sure that my so called 'mermaid hair' doesn't go all over my face and get soaked in the water. I'd gone blonde just before Christmas, feeling the need for a change since it kinda fit with my life. It started as just standard ombré and soon I had a full head of blond hair, I love it.

Sat in the edge of the pool my legs drifting small circles in the water I sink down being engulfed by its cool calmness before slowly drifting towards Alex a small smile dancing on my lips.

His hands rest on my hips pulling me slightly closer to his body whilst He draws small circles on the bare skin of my hips. I can feel myself relax in his touch as I hold onto his shoulders in order to not fall in below the water, it's too deep for me to touch the bottom in this part of the pool.

"You're so annoying." I whine, my lips pouted as Alex's fingers dig into my sides making me squeal loudly and jump in his arms as he tickles me quickly.

"What was that?" He asks making my cheeks heat up as I shake my head quickly mumbling a stream of 'nothing' and 'sorry's under my breath. "Where is everyone?" Alex asks resting his head on my shoulder as my back is now against his body.

"Dying in bed." Was my only answer along with a small giggle. We landed in Miami yesterday for Lola and Carter's wedding and well... the girls aren't coping too well with jet lag whereas I'm just trying to get on with it. I'm not sure how well it's working out for me though.

Alex looks to me, his bottom lip tucked between his teeth as I tilt my head at him in questioning. "I've got something to ask you..." He trails off as I roll my eyes at him spinning around in my spot to face him. His face is serious making every sense of joking disappear from the air around us, this is important.

"Shoot." I mumble. Alex is never serious, hence why a million things which could be wrong are currently whizzing around my head. He swallows heavily as I tilt my head as though to question him further.

"Whilst we're here, do you maybe wanna, I don't know...go out? Like a date?" He stutters nervously and all I can do is stare at him wide eyed. Sure, we fûcked around a little but I wasn't expecting that. Apparently we even acted as a couple sometimes but I could never see him as more than a friend.

I hear my subconscious sneer at the sentence knowing its complete lies. I've slept with him multiple times so I clearly can see him as more than a friend otherwise nothing would've happened, I guess?
