third pov:
"w-what?" she continues to listen, still in shock at the words that just came out of nikis mouth
"i like you, y/n, so much and i just wanted you to know that' he takes a sigh before continuing "i don't expect you to return my feelings and feel the same" he looks down "it's okay, i'll just give you some time to think about... well, us, but don't stress about it, okay?"
why, why did this have to be now? now that he's a k-pop idol. now that it's dangerous for us to be together.
"i-i'm sorry riki"
"wait what?"
"i'm sorry i never knew but i just wanted to say that i-" she's cut off by niki
"uh, hey, it's no problem" he says, not being able to look her in the eyes, hiding all his pain "i just remembered i had to give jake something, i'll drop you off first?"
he thought he could handle it, but he was all messed up now that he got rejected, wanting to leave as soon as he could
"actually my friend will be picking me up" she lied and hated herself for making it so obvious
"okay, well i'll see you later then?" he said, his voice breaking apart
she nodded and niki rushed to his car, struggling to stand still
as soon as he reached his car he jumped in and closed the door. parked still in the parking lot, he places one hand on the stearing wheel and the other running through his hair. he looks out the window only to find a couple walk past holding hands.
he can't hold it in anymore and tears fall down his face, he's mad at himself for thinking she would like him back for just one second.
"so....so stupid" niki hits the stearing wheel a couple times while letting out all his tears, yet to come.
"i want you so bad" he whispers with his head against the stearing wheel, continuing to cry
