The breeze felt nice on my face as my previous tears dried up. I was sitting in the sand as I looked at the gun from the cave.

"What were you doing with this, Benson?" I said under my breath.

I could hear running steps up behind me, so I placed the gun into my pocket and turned around to look.

Of course it had to be Jack. Couldn't he take a hint at this point?

"Hey." He said huffing, out of breath.

I rolled my eyes as I turned my head away from him.

"Okay, fine. Guess we'll play that way." He came up to me and sat next to me.

"Jack I don't really want to.. well see you." I stated.

"Glad you're talking again, and your bruise is healing." He smiled at me, his perfect white teeth gleaming.

Jesus Fay, get ahold of yourself.

      "Yep." I frowned, not interested.

"Fay, I'm sorry. Please I don't want you to be mad at me." Jack begged and apologized.

"Yeah no, it's okay you killed my friend." I shot him a fake smirk.

"I didn't mean to. I didn't know it was him, I really thought he was the.."

"The beast? My god Jack there is no such thing as the beast. It's literally Captain Benson!" I yelled.

      "What?" He glared in confusion.

"Look for yourself. The captain is dead, and he is in the cave. THAT is what you heard." I glared back.

"No there really is a beast, I know it." He tried to convince me.

"I give up." I sighed, shaking my head as I was getting up.

"Wait!" He pulled my arm back down, making me stumble onto him.

He caught me by my waist, but I inches myself away from him.

      "Sorry." He laughed.

"Whatever." I looked to the ground.

He grabbed my cheek, and turned my head to look up to his face.

I wanted to pull away, but I just froze. I just let it happen.

      "Please." He whispered.

"How could I ever forgive you though?" I let my words trickle out softly.

"You can't. But please." He pleaded.

And just like that, I hooked onto the bait like a fish.

I leaned in, and our lips pressed together. I felt so gullible it hurt.

"I feel so lucky." He said in between our kisses.

I softly chuckled and smiled at him.

"You better." I looked into his eyes.

My head leaned onto his shoulder as his arm wrapped around my waist.

He pushed my hair back with his other free hand, twisting it through his fingers.

His head rested onto mine as we looked into the ocean.

"Don't ever do something like that, ever again." I whispered.

"I promise." He said as he held onto me tighter, making me feel warm inside.
